https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greenes-solar-eclipse-post-gets-brutal-fact-check-1887631

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, was fact-checked on her social media post on Friday about the upcoming solar eclipse.

The total solar eclipse, which is when the moon completely passes over the sun creating darkness during daylight hours, will be observed in North America on Monday. The eclipse's path will move across Mexico, parts of the United States, and a small part of eastern Canada. The total eclipse will last up to 4 minutes and 28 seconds in some areas.

Greene wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday, "God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens."

The congresswoman's post then got hit with a community note, which is a small blurb below a post that gives readers added context and typically disputes the X user's claims.

"Earthquakes happen all the time, all around the world," the community note read. "Eclipses are not random, they follow strict mathematical rules and can be predicted centuries before they happen. NASA has a site listing eclipses until the year 3000."

Newsweek reached out to Greene's office via email for comment.

On Friday, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit Whitehouse Station, part of Readington Township, in New Jersey, and rattled parts of the Northeast. Shaking was felt throughout the region, including New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania and as far as Maine.

Greene, a Christian known for her far-right views, has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration's policies, particularly when it comes to the handling of the migrant surge at the U.S.-Mexico border. She has also previously called for a "national divorce" between red and blue states.

Former Representative Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican, also spoke out against Greene's post.

"Fun fact. There are about 3 solar eclipses worldwide per year, and many earthquakes. Both events were predetermined at the creation of the universe," he wrote on Friday. "The solar eclipse is not a sign. It's just a really cool show, if the clouds cooperate. This lady is in congress?"

Kinzinger, who is currently a CNN senior political commentator, has been critical of far-right Republicans. He, along with former Representative Liz Cheney from Wyoming, were the only two Republicans to sit on the January 6 committeea House select committee tasked with investigating the events surrounding the riot of Donald Trump supporters that erupted at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, to stop the certification of Joe Biden's 2020 election win.

Yeah Doc was also somehow the GM of the team, so he traded for his son, then signed him to like a 35 million dollar contract for no fucking reason, which was proven because after that one contract he's been a minimum salary player for five other teams.

It cannot be overstated how much of a cancer Doc Rivers is on the NBA, everywhere he goes he fucks things up. He took over the Bucks this season when they were one of the best teams in the league and has them playing .500 ball.

Yeah, it's tough because I like Doc. Good interview. Always says the right thing, etc. but he blew at least two 3-1 playoff leads with the Clippers. That shit can't happen, and he had to go.

Plus he turned "Lob City" into a plodding team that could neither fast break, or run a half court offense.

Not in the NBA, but Glenn 'Doc' Rivers coached his son Austin 'Scrub' Rivers for a couple years on the LA Clippers.

LeBron Jr. really needs to stop letting people call him Bronny jesus christ you're a grown man.

Austin Rivers is one of the worst "NBA" players I've ever seen. He would practically fall over trying to dribble on a fast break.

He became a somewhat respectable player, but that was the clearest case of nepotism I've ever seen in the NBA.

Never got around to watching him play (JuJu Watkins is the best player at USC, IMO), but I hear from those that have seen him that he's probably a mid level NBA talent.

He'll likely make the league, but he's not likely to be a star.

Interesting coincidence.

Some of you remember my previous topic about this girl's BF mouthing off to me on the phone. Basically, I have been sweet talking her while he is at the gym and I was ready to invite her over to "watch a movie" with me when he answered the phone. We exchanged some words, I told him that I was going to fuck his girl, and I challenged him to a battle of honor at a local park nearby.

I told him to show up at 8:00, so that we didn't run into a crowd of people. This park is usually dead, there aren't any actual play areas for kids, just a basketball court and some callisthenic workout racks. I told him to meet me in the shady area by the pullup bars. The thing is, he didn't know what I looked like, and I knew what he looked like because I had seen pics of him from my friend's phone before.

Anyways, I told him to meet me at 8:00PM, but I decided to show up 40 minutes early to scout the place out. Since I told him where to meet me, I knew where he'd be approaching from. So, I dressed in all black, tied a t-shirt around my head, and climbed into a tree near the meeting place and waited for him. Like I anticipated, he showed up at 8:00 on the dot, and was pacing around looking for me.

He was really heated, shadow boxing a bunch, throwing his fists around, talking shit at the air, and he was walking around a lot. I think he wanted me to see how hyped up he was while I was approaching to sort of scare me. Well, that was a big fucking mistake, because the dude wound up pacing just underneath the tree I was hiding in, and I dropped on top of him and tackled him to the ground. Dude never saw it coming. So, I drop onto him, he crumples, and before he can get up, I kick the dude as hard as I could in the ribs. He let out a really loud "OOOMFFFFF", but he was getting up to his feet again real fast. I was glad I didn't pick a fair fight with this guy, because even with the sucker punch he was still in the game!

So, since he was getting up to his feet, I basically sized up how fast he was getting up, took two steps back, and then laid a really sloppy haymaker as hard as I could into his jaw. Knocked him to the ground AGAIN. At that point, I told him that he goes down faster than his GF. Dude got pissed, because now he knew for sure that he was dealing with the guy on the phone. So he bull charges me and knocks me off my feet. He was faster than I expected and he took me off guard. He pulled my ninja mask off my face, and started punching me. Just laying into me, punching me over and over again, even busted my nose open and I was bleeding all over the place. I started calling mercy, telling him I was sorry and he hesitated, so I threw a handful of sand in his eyes and then rolled him over. Got on top of him and started giving him the same medicine he was giving me, left and rights right into his face, broke his nose open and then I grabbed him by both ears and headbutted him straight in the face.

I got up, and he was down, so I kicked him a few times, and he wasn't getting up. Then, I spat on him, and took my phone out and took a picture of him.

I told him it was a good fight, but he got his ass kicked just like I said he would. I told him that this doesn't settle ANYTHING, and that I'm still going to be talking to his girl. He told me that if I don't back off from her, he's going to find where I live and shoot my place up, so I kicked him as hard as I could in the jaw and knocked the dude clean unconscious.

I got home, and I don't look too bad. Outside of the bloody nose, I look way better than he did when I left him. His GF is probably going to dump him for being a hotheaded low life that starts fights with her friends.

NGL, but I would - at least initially - have trouble getting my head around the situation.

One body, but two (presumably distinct) personalities. Like, you could get into an argument with one, but the other agrees with you. Or go out to dinner and presumably have 3 completely different orders.

I think I legit wouldn't know how to act sometimes. I guess you just look at the one talking, or something.

Apparently, one controls one set of limbs and another controls the other (L-R). As for anything in between, I don't even wanna know.
