Can you believe it's been 30 years since the show started? And 20 since it ended. Time sure flies, it doesn't feel like it has been over for that long. That also means Ben would be 29, the triplets would be 26, Emma would be 22, while Jack and Erika would be 20. Crazy imo.

SPOILER WARNING FROM THIS POINT FORWARD. It goes without saying probably and its a 20-year-old TV show so who cares, but just to be on the safe side, any flavor text may include heavy spoilers for the show. With that said, let us begin.

I am a huge fan of this show. Earlier American sitcoms didnt really hit Denmark the same way Friends and later shows did. This show still airs in primetime every single day and is among the most streamed shows here. Personally, I also think its peak sitcom. Sure, it has its flaws and inconsistencies and I love to talk about that too, but there is nothing like Friends when its at its best. I have watched the show countless times. Its just great background noise and because I know it so well, it can run with practically anything. Most recently I watched it after the devastating news that Matthew Perry had passed away and I cried in one of the episodes as a direct result of that. Not all of the show has aged perfectly, but thats just how it is sometimes and the authors have been nice enough about this that I think its alright. Expect flavor text to be a mix of commentary from me and in universe stuff.

The setting for this game is that we find ourselves in the heart of New York. Our group of Friends are going through their daily misadventures of work, friendship and trying to find love. The setting of lots of sitcoms. Hanging out in the local coffee shop, Central Perk, or in the proximity there off, the Friends meet various love interests. Driven by sparks and lust, these love interests might prevent them from seeing that perhaps the loves of their lives were right by them the whole time.

RULES

GENERAL
- Mafia is a game of the uninformed majority (the TOWN), against the informed minority (the MAFIA/SCUM). It is the TOWNs job to eradicate the MAFIA completely, and the MAFIAs job to survive to a point where numbers are such that they cannot lose.
- The TOWN eliminates the MAFIA via lynches, which occur once a DAY. Everyone gets one vote which they may place on whoever they feel is scum. Whoever receives the most votes is lynched and removed from the game. DAYs last 48 hours or until a lynch is decided.
- During the NIGHT phase, the MAFIA gets its chance to even the numbers slightly by killing someone and removing them from the game. NIGHTs last 24 hours.
- The game ends when one faction meets its victory condition. A player will win, even if they are dead, as long as their alignment triumphs.

ETIQUETTE
- I reserve the right to modkill anyone that breaks any of the rules. Depending on the degree of the rule break you may or may not receive a warning before I act. Any judgement I make regarding modkills is final and is not allowed to be discussed at all before the game is over. It is not in my interest to modkill so simply avoid forcing me to decide.
- A basic level of activity is expected in this game. You are not expected to post for the whole 48 hours, but you are expected to keep up to speed with the topic. This is a rare rule in where you are guaranteed to receive a formal warning before I act.
- In the event a replacement happens, you are not allowed to discuss the reasons for the replacement at all.
- Play to win. There is no such thing as being in an unwinnable position in mafia, however hopeless it may seem. You are not allowed to sabotage your faction.
- You are forbidden from talking to another player about the game outside the topic, unless you have a special board, or permission from the host to do so.
- You are forbidden from posting in the topic during the night phase (including after the final vote is cast/a STOP is called). Posting at :00 is too late. I will try to be nice and reasonable about this but do not attempt to take advantage of it.
- You are forbidden from editing or deleting posts. This includes players who have been eliminated from the game. It is allowed to edit a simple typo into a post but substituting sentences or even words as well as adding or removing content is strictly against the rules. If you are worried about editing typos, always make a new post instead.
- You are forbidden from posting pictures of other players into the topic. Do not post audio clips into the topic.
- You are forbidden from making bets or stake a claim on outside forces during the game i.e. do not swear on your mothers life that you are telling the truth.
- You must play nice. Deliberate intimidation, harassment or verbal abuse of another player in a malicious and uncalled for fashion is not allowed. This is extremely important. Telling someone that their play is stupid is fine. Telling someone they are stupid is not.
- You are not allowed to have any players in the game blocked at any point while the game is going on, even if neither of you is alive.
- Do what the Host says. I reserve the right to change the rules at any point during the game as I see fit. Feel free to ask me questions privately at any time.

VOTING
- You vote in the format ##Vote: [playername], in bold. You can remove your vote by posting ##Unvote, also in bold. You can also choose to ##Vote: No Lynch. You are not required to unvote before voting elsewise, but it is appreciated for tallying purposes.
- The lynch is decided on a plurality system. Once one player receives votes from a simple majority left in the game, the day immediately ends, and that player is lynched. Failing that, every day has a time limit of 48 hours. The player in the lead at that point will be lynched.
- If two or more players are tied in votes at the end of the day, the day will be extended to a maximum of 30 minutes and only the players that were tied for most votes can be voted. Any vote or unvote that breaks the tie for the lead will result in the day immediately ending. If it is still tied after 30 minutes, I will randomly choose one of the tied players to be lynched. No Lynch is an exception and will always be chosen if it is among the tied options. If you dislike randomness, do not let the day end in a tie.
- You are not allowed to vote for yourself.

ROLES
- Everyone received their roles prior to the game. This contained flavor text, character, alignment and role. You must read this before playing the game. All roles have been given out at random.
- You are allowed to share your character and role with the game.
- You are allowed to share your flavor text but only paraphrased using your own words. Directly copy/pasting is forbidden. Ask me beforehand if youre in doubt. Flavor is meant to be fun but not meant to be used to solve the game. That leads me to the next rule.
- Trying to metagame is allowed but not recommended. Metagaming is drawing conclusions based on predictions and explanations of the host or the setup. In continuation of the above, I will confirm that MAFIA has a safelist which is a list of characters truthfully sworn by the host to not be in the game that they are free to claim.
- Remember to check your messages before posting in each new day and at the start of each night, even if you are not expecting correspondence from the host. There may be something you need to be aware of.
- During the Night phase, the following is the order in which actions take place. This is in no way confirmation of all these abilities being in the game.
1. Any necessary and hopefully unlikely host intervention
2. Strongman
3. Any ability for which it convenient to act early such as recruiter, neighborizer or backup.
4. Any form of roleblocking or redirection. If they target each other, roleblocking works first.
5. Any form for kidnapping or commuting
6. Anything that does not fall into the other categories
7. Regular killing abilities

A FEW EXTRA REMARKS ABOUT THIS GAME SPECIFICALLY
- As mentioned in the sign-up topic. This game is role madness. It should be balanced but could by nature also be swingy. If its not, hopefully its fun. In any case, I heavily discourage setup meta.
- Town roles are all love interests of the main characters at some point in the series, big or small. Flavors might make sense, or they might not. Flavor might justify why it fits with the role, or it might not, regardless of my considerations about it. Consistency in this regard is not really there. Also, the whole setup was finished before I began deciding flavor for each role. This is another way of saying that trying to meta this is not worth your time.
- If I am asleep and something happens, well, you will just have to hope I will wake up soon. Cohosts are a nice thing, but I want to be around for flips myself and make any relevant decisions myself, thats my fun in this. Other than that, I should be able to be reached at basically any point of the day. Anyone whether in the game or not is however always more than welcome to help with votals, thats just an appreciated service to me.

I am considering hard what to do because I feel bad and I don't think I can really do anything post roles having been sent out. Best is probably first choice replacement (of which I do have a second). Strike for me as host for sure.

Ctes has beaten Daiva Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia.

Well that was super dull. I have no interest in experiencing the other six perspectives, fortunately they are not part of this project. Perhaps it would have helped if the little story text there was was not in Japanese and I could read it, but I really doubt it.

It's not bad per say it's just really repetitive and yeah, dull. Levels are basically identical as you can complete them in any order, it just makes it less interesting.

Yeah, I made myself good at Volleyball using the rewind feature. And then I started over whenever I lost a set. I got good at saving but never really that great at smashing.

If you count Nations League it's actually four. However they did lose to Brazil in the final of Confederarions Cup in 13, so those cancel out I suppose.

I plan on making the relevant setup decisions tomorrow, I won't have time to do it today anyway. In the meantime will just tag some of the usual suspects
