You can knock out a bunch of the games I've played recently, but yeah I've had a pretty strong pace recently.

I've been looking at this Daiva Story and apparently this is one of seven presentations of the same story (only one for NES) released across seven different platforms. That's a pretty unique concept. Will play that one soon.

Also Wallz, I think the release date for Daiva Story on backloggd is off, every single site I can find puts 1986 as the year, not 1995.

2 and 3 are usually people's favorites I think. 1 being better than 2 is a hot take for sure though.

It's a shame it's not the NES ones imo, but still cool to have something on there. Five games out of nowhere is still cool though.

Ctes has beaten Mappy-Land

Conceptually it's fine, it's held back by its rather clunky control scheme though. Teampolines aren't very fun for a jumpung mechanic. It's annoying how little you can fall, and the climbing level in each world sucks a lot. It's cute and alright beyond that though. I don't care enough to speak a whole lot. 32 levels was probably a good length.

Ctes has beaten Mighty Bomb Jack

This is decent. But for a platformer, it's a bit too little about platforming. The mechanic that somehow you get into a torture room if you don't use your coins though, that kinda sucks. It works and is simple, but nothing to write home about. Firmly in that middle category.

I thought when I played the remaster trilogy they weren't as great as I recalled. They probably hold up fine though all things considered.

This is a good 50th tbh. A game I wanted to try regardless that the project is making me, which is ultimately the best part of doing this.

This is good. It's similar to The Legend of Zelda, but much shorter, less varying locations, less puzzles and a good but harder in general. It was pretty tough. But when you take all that away, you're still left with a decent experinece. Wonder why it didn't get localized, difficulty perhaps. In any case, it's among the better NES experineces, but also unlikely to be something I would ever replay.

I made sign ups

No specific amount of players needed. I will see what we get and work with it. Thinking of just leaving it open for a couple of days and we take it from there.

But I do know I will try to get creative with the setup, or rather I have a bunch of concepts I will probbaly pick from depending on player number and flavor. Role Madness is a broad term, I think for now you should just think something like anything goes. Except things like banned stuff, host lies etc. That's as precise as I can be before I have a player list I think.

And flavor? Well, I have some ideas so far:

- Ctes Back Alley Casino
- Cartoon Network
- Friends (the TV series)
- Something football related, Euros perhaps (and when I say football, I mean the sport where that name makes sense)
- Purple Monkey Dishwasher

Or you can suggest something else, or I come up with something else. Feel free to weigh in or what it is at least! No one was ready but at least some people wanted to play.

I'll put up a sign up topic later then, flavor undecided, will give some ideas in sign up topic. Some degree of role madness, we will see how many players we have.

Ghosts n' Goblins is probably gonna be frustrating so it might be nice to play it alongside something else that is less frustrating lol. We can also wait until you've played one of the others if you want.

There is a single heart piece in Majora's Mask I never managed to get lmao. Maybe the NSO run will be it!

I did get everything on the 3DS version but still.

It's a good point, there was a point where I worried about knocking out too much of the good stuff early lol.

Maybe Zelda II is the good 50th game. It's been forever, I wonder what I would think of it today.

Majora's Mask is like a top 5 game on the service and I've already completed two of them, definitely saving that for a bit.

Although both also have a combined 3 rereleases also on the service.

Ctes has beaten Star Soldier

I don't know, I felt like playing a shooter. This one is for most part not that tough and then the large brain bosses are incredibly rough. Took a good while to beat the one in both stage 12 and stage 16. I feel like they could have made this better. It should have a difficulty curve instead of these spikes for one thing. Also the gimmick of going below things to turn invisible but also not be able to do anything yourself is a cool idea, but would be significantly improved if you had any control over it. Still a decent experinece though.

I think I will put it just below TwinBee but I feel like they are pretty similar.

I played some Mysterious Murasame Castle, it's pretty fun! Similar to Legend of Zelda. A bit harder I think.

Ctes has beaten Dig Dug II

That wasn't a great game. Potential is higher than for some of the previous games but enemy movement greatly ruins it imo. It was bearable because of the tip I got from Crispy but yeah. Level difficulty settings a good bit after the initial 32 from the arcade version.

I have been working on Dig Dug II a bit as well, almost halfway. Crispy's advice helped big time, the first spoiler tag in the post. I had considered giving up before learning that because I wasn't having fun and kept dying quickly lol. It's still not great, I agree with most points, but this makes it doable.

Next up after or next to the will probably be Murasame Castle, which is actually a game I would've probably tried regardless of doing this project, as I have had some curiously about it since it was referenced in Nintendo Land. It wasn't on the service until after this begun.

This was pretty fun. Not spectacular or anything but decent. Nice lengtg. It's a good reminder of why going somewhat chronological is nice because playing Xevious after this wouldn't be ideal.

Yeah, we discussed starting Stadium at one point and I was thinking to wait with that until the end in case they somehow find a way to not have to use rentals.

I played most of TwinBee, seems to be 10 levels only where you have to beat each boss twice. Better version of Xevious basically.
