Meanwhile, the actual controversy around them pertains to a Steam page that contains a list of every game the company was hired to work on. People who want to avoid that company's work can visit that page and make sure that a game doesn't appear on the list.

The company is very, very upset by the prospect of accountability for their own output, and a few employees are trying to mass report, smear, and otherwise attempt to damage and punish the person who made the Steam page.

That's where the actual controversy starts. The rest of it is just "consulting firm gives awful advice, game companies follow the advice, the game sucks, people don't want to play more games with similar problems, people follow a steam page to keep track of games associated with the consulting company, consulting company becomes very upset"

but it did indeed overstay its welcome by the time you reach the penultimate dungeon

and while persona is by far from the worst offender, gimmicky turn based battle systems (ie: match enemy weakness to win) are so droll, especially when they have an elemental/type wheel that's more than you can count on both hands

like i said, that's why i like raid's battle system (even if the monetization ruins the game), because it's got simply 3 types in its wheel followed by an agnostic type. and being able to see enemy intents and turn orders for both sides, coupled with a highly customizable turn order via the speed stat, makes strategizing actually fun. and an easy to use automated scripting of ability use/behaviors/hierarchies tailored to specific tasks takes all the chore out of grinding.

ive just not seen a proper turn based rpg yet that can ride the balance between making its combat interesting without making normal battles superfluous or a chore.

If your tryna farm expansions, I reccomend going back to chapter 2 or 3. Longer runs may be more favorable than numerous short ones.

Also, you want to spawn a lot of mobs asap, but as a Necro, you don't want Goblins or Theives around for long. I usually plan my villages so that Theif Kamps will only have access to Ransacked Villages, which they kan't actually reach, and save Oblivions for Goblin Kamps after third or fith loop.

As a Necro, forests are a god-send. That speed is great and the Forrested Villages they spawn are a great place to rest, since the enemies only kounter attack, and thus, only hit your skeletons.

Bookery is mainly for getting rid of lower quality rocks n forest kards, if you kan afford to stall a bit. Having only Mountains and Thickets placed is nice. Also, book is needed to farm Time Shards (I haven't unlocked watchers)

i think it's so fuckin cool what people have done with modding, and it's why if i'm ever unsatisfied with any game option/mechanic, i immediately search "____ mods", and am most of the time successful

do i want results from mods? well yeah, duh
but do i think (whether i'm interested in a particular mod or not) modding as a concept is fucking cool? hell ya

there's plenty of insanely popular skyrim mods i don't use because they don't cater to my playstyle, but i'm really happy they exist. i mean as a side example, i paint warhammer miniatures.

there was a huge row a few years ago about a new line of paints called "contrast paints", that the sole manufacturer of the warhammer models released themselves. the tagline of these paints was "one thick coat" (a semi-meme about having to thin your previously acrylic based paints). their value lied in how they formulated the darker pigments to settle in recesses and lighter/nonexistent pigment to at most, shade the highlights. on a simple tabletop job? it was literally miracle water. but your average "competitive" painter went to no ends complaining about how it was "cheating".

me personally? i fuckin hate em. not because of how they facilitate easy of use for less skilled painters, but because they leave a "coffee stain" on unsettled pigments. but i'm super fuckin happy that less-skilled painters have access to things they enjoy
