There were only two moments where I thought Trump was truly cooked.

The first was the Access Hollywood tape. Political careers had been ended over a lot less, and I figured that given that Trump's chances of election already looked pretty shaky, this was it. And it almost was, if it wasn't for James fucking Comey (though even then, it really should have finished Trump).

After he shook that off, I never put much stock in a lot of the "career-ending" things Trump supposedly did, right up until January 6. I figured staging a violent insurrection against the government would probably disqualify him in the eyes of a critical mass of voters, but there's me overestimating American morality again...

basically this. when he survived the grab em by the pussy tape i knew it would take something huge to take him down. i thought j6th was gonna be that thing when even the GOP started to came out against him at first. when they had all gone back into Gaslight, Obstruct, Project mode by the time biden was inaugurated, i knew america truly didn't give a shit about anything anymore

Discord is a fine alternative to a chat room/IRC and literally nothing else. If i need actual information on a topic, i'd take even a subreddit over having to wade through 5 years of trolls, gooners, cliquish bullshit, and mod meltdowns to find an answer to one (1) question. It's incredible how succinctly discord has managed to subsume all of the worst aspects of the both old and new internet with the usability of neither.

The only reason tech companies only partially kissed the ring the first time is because they thought trump was an aberration

Pretty much all of these armchair autopsies of the election are just an excuse for people to air out their grievances about dem policy they personally have under the guise of good faith recommendations. My armchair autopsy is much better of course:

1.The Vibecession. The economy was the biggest issue for people voting, and when people are unhappy with the economy, their thought doesnt go deeper than "blame the party in power." While every economic indicator is currently trending positive, none of that matters when the republican messaging of "look at these tic tacs" won out. vibes will beat out fact every time. Which brings me to point 2

2.Right wing media dominance. Even beyond the outsized influence Fox News and right wing radio have long had, there is simply no equivalent to outlets like Prager U and The Daily Wire on the left backed by millions in funding to push political content online. MSM outlets like CNN at best carry water for the right in the name of appearing unbiased and at worst show active hostility to the left. Twitter being bought out by a fascist billionaire was just the icing on the cake. Right wing narratives are being amplified unchallenged while the left struggles to even gain a foothold with their messaging. While some of this is almost inevitable due the way social media algorithms favor the clicks generated by the specific brand of sensational, alarmist, conspiracism the right deals in, the fact is that the dems are about a decade behind in terms of how people currently consume news and political info

These are far and away the two biggest factors that cost the dems across all demographics

All the things in the world we've lost over the last two decades, all the likeabale people on CE that have died or left, and yet what endures is ApocalypseEdge and his forever alone conservatroll gimmick shit. Jesus Christ.

They've actually never relied on youtube as their main source of income and they've actually done a pretty good job of diversifying their revenue streams. Even from very early on, their most consistent source of income was their merch sales. From the sound of things, this last year has been a perfect storm of issues for them since they've have problems with production delays and QA with the companies they use for their merch, scammers issuing chargebacks, and declining returns from youtube and twitch among others.

1.As far as I'm aware, twitch doesn't even refer to them as bans in their TOS in the first place
2.There is no different system for "suspensions" or "bans", every temporary ban is the result of a twitch employee manually going in and undoing a person's ban.
