Selphie has been booted plenty in recent years too. She basically relies on FFD to keep her afloat, too. Either way, it's a sucky way to lose someone.

Didn't most of those characters receive a save from their primary supporter (or close enough) in the round they went out? They just didn't get a second save.

Yeah, but now they aren't that person's first priority. They're getting second hour saves and aren't being traded for, so they're hanging around at the ends of rounds just waiting to be booted.

It's not uncommon to see second contest boots because a lot of these characters are propped up by one person who moves on to another priority next contest

I think the list of characters this has happened to would be pretty lengthy!

Lightning Returns did indeed come out in 2013

Reverie is really good. It's also really long, especially counting the postgame content.

Not sure I'm ready to commit to another long game just yet because just playing Reverie and Rebirth has taken up such a large chunk of my gaming time in the last year.

It's really good! It introduces a new character who's pretty good, an enjoyable story, a brand new area with several locations, and a couple fun boss fights. Leviathan adds some neat new skills to Clive's repertoire, too. It's basically got everything a good DLC episode needs.

Classic games like Uncharted 2 and New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Don't think I'd feel obligated to save a summon that's not exclusive to/originated in VIII though.

Also I would recommend stopping 2 or 3 hours from the end of Xenosaga Episode III and you'll have a more satisfying experience

She does, but I also don't think she's actually read anything I've written before.

I do plan to discuss Squall at some point during this project. Ironically, trying to talk about Squall is actually kind of difficult for me because it's hard to boil down my connection to him into something concise. I think the last two or three times I did a list and got to Squall, I just rambled for a few posts and never actually found a spot to land and end the writeup!

My wife used my laptop and I had the document open I'm using for these writeups. She got curious and read through it, and she was actually impressed that I kind of know how to write!

Also now I'm glad I didn't finish that writeup last night because it's from a game series I've introduced her to but we haven't gotten that deep into the series yet!

I will agree with SD that I generally dislike the first-person perspective, although not because of motion sickness. I just don't like having to constantly adjust the camera.

So should I give Outer Wilds another shot or give Tyrion Cuthbert a shot?

Wow, they actually got Cary Elwes for this show. I always enjoy seeing him.

Also I enjoyed the ESPN Ocho reference, as well as having Knuckles wear the silly hat from that old Sonic movie.

Lana Skye: 6.5/10

"People really liked defending Edgeworth, right? Let's just do that again." Except she's less interesting than Edgeworth and she's not too likable until the final trial day. When she decides to stop stonewalling you, she's good though.

Angel Starr: 5.5/10

Her testimony is super tedious, generally uninteresting, and really time consuming for something that doesn't advance the case much at all. Her lunch boxes are great though.

Jake Marshall: 8.5/10

I thought he was pretty annoying the first time I played 1-5, but I've grown to appreciate what he does for this case over time. His testimony is great and it marks the moment when 1-5 gets really good.

Bruce Goodman: 3/10

He's a good man who wears a cool hat and trenchcoat. That's good enough for a victim for me.

Damon Gant: 9.5/10

Up there with von Karma as the best villain in the series. He's what Redd White should have been. Fantastic animations, too, especially the lightning bolt damage animation.

Mike Meekins: 1/10

Worst character in the series. He has a bunch of gimmicks and running gags, almost none of them funny. One of the worst crimes you can commit in Ace Attorney is failing to be funny, and Meekins is the worst offender in that regard.
