Like, money isn't as valuable as more life, is it? Especially since you could easily make bank by memorizing lottery numbers or investing in Bitcoin or something. Everyone posting here is probably in their 30s or 40s. Youth is valuable and so is living longer.

Men are statistically more likely to be violent than women, but that fact does little good if the person beating the shit out of you is a woman. There is also nothing about being a women that prevents you from lying, and the "believe all women" thing depends on you either believing that, or believing that because rape is such a serious issue, nobody will lie about it. Neither of these things are true. Real equality demands equal justice and protection for all. A lesbian in an abusive relationship should be taken seriously, and so should a man who has been raped. Children abused by their mother or another female relative need just as much help as if it had been their father. People who destroy the lives of others with demonstrably false accusations--and this can as you pointed out, have a racist element--should suffer stiff penalties. I'm not really sure how this differs from what other large cities do. Personally, I always favor privacy over surveillance, and I generally feel that when government pushes hard for an increase in technology or powers for police, it is really covering for its own incompetence or general failure by promising something shiny was what was missing. --- Cuteness is justice! The fantasy she was building and trying to convince others of was disturbing and led to false criminal charges. She could have confessed that it was made up at the very beginning or at any time after to spare an innocent man pain.

The future cannot be stopped.I've long suspected that a species inability to choose to avoid "inevitable" or convenient technologies might a Great Filter or maybe even the Great Filter. The threat of nuclear annihilation hangs over our heads because we "inevitably" had to make weapons once we learned how to split the atom, and these "inevitably" had to proliferate and grow in number. There certainly is a possibility that AI research may eventually produce an incredibly dangerous system that leads to our destruction (something as simple as a misaligned autonomous system connected to military assets might do it). I mean, it's not even out of the realm of possibility that if AI technology doesn't plateau that the economic and creative impacts combined with unchecked climate change and global political instability might do it, or at least deal an incredible amount of damage to society the likes of which the world hasn't seen in thousands of years. It's depressing to think that humans collectively have no free will because things simply must happen for money, political advantages, or military advantages. All the officers I've known are good people, but any time when you are out and about, you could encounter...whatever that is. It's not enough to be law abiding and chill, at any time there can be some sort of altercation where you've done nothing wrong, and the harms perpetrated will never be addressed. Hell, you might even get jail time for "resisting". And you'll be told it didn't happen or if it did, you shouldn't have brought it on yourself.

Much of the stuff--even the fantastical stuff--looked great with natural language prompts. Even if legislation demands some kind of way to verify AI video, it will be easily circumvented, governments and maybe even police will have exceptions baked in (for safety, no doubt) and nobody will ever know for sure if what they are seeing is real.
