Well, I was close minded about the plot line because I was so upset at the premise. But I was more upset hehas spent relatively little time as a lawyer.

Back when I was a kid, AA4 pissed me off with what they did to Phoenix so I never gave it a proper chance. Now that the righteous anger has subsided, I'm thinking of picking up the AJ collection.

Maybe the uncommitted movement had a big impact on the election, maybe not. But the message that the election sends to politicians is that the average voting American supports Israel and / or does not care about the Palestinians. I am not at all convinced supporting Palestine wholeheartedly would have resulted in a net increase in voters (uncommitted voters attracted vs. pro Israel voters deterred). But I have no data to back that up, just talking out my ass.

There is also Patapon, which is a kind of a mix between rhythm game and RPG. Your "party" are your units, but there is opportunity for grinding levels, equipment, and materials. I hear the PS4 version can be tough due to input latency though.

We've taken for granted that the Democratic Party will always win the popular vote, and the younger generation will eventually trend to the DNC in its own. This election should be a wake up call that this will not happen if the party doesn't also appeal to young men. And the left wing culture will need to adapt.

As others have said, it is not just policy platforms or candidates that influence the vote. It is the positions of political influencers and random people online which have a meaningful impact on party perception.

I also think this is the second election which has shown you need a charismatic politician, not an accomplished one to be president. The average swing voter listening in and thinking "this person gets it! I like this person." Then they will listen to "x will improve you lives" in a more meaningful way than somebody listing statistics and facts.

In most online political discussions about young men in the past year or two, I have seen the sentiment which goes something like "if young men can't vote empathetically without asking what's in it for them, fuck 'em!" I do not think that strategy has been effective.

Young men got caught up in some weird transitional period between patriarchy and feminism where toxic masculinity is discouraged during their formative years yet rewarded by society at-large, and they ended up very pissed about following the rules but getting worse results than the guys who didn't. That's what fuels the manosphere backlash.

There's a hope among them that Trump's continued wins especially rip the veil off of a society and show that scumbaggery is still law, contrary to the values young men are (falsely in their view) raised to believe.
This is an interesting idea. I can kind of see interpreting the world that way. Certainly at college age "good behavior" was not the way to get ahead socially. But my behavior was more about my values than results. But I remember having some bitter years myself.

We've already failed these young men and we just gave all the power to the people grooming them. It's too late, Trump and his ilk will implement policies at the expense of women because we couldn't bother to help young men.
Well, there are more kids born in the world everyday. Not sure how to avoid the same pitfalls with them.

I guess my follow up is... what do we do now? I guess I'll never understand how to convince people in the alt right pipeline. In some ways (certainly not all) it feels the same as arguing with a flat earther. To get there in the first place, all credible sources of evidence have to have been dismissed as false by the person you're dealing with. And all your left with is "bro, the earth simply isn't flat."

Idk if that made any sense, but it is how the shift right in young men has made me feel. But more in terms of a stark difference in values than dismissing all science and critical thinking.

I admit I am left puzzled by the election. I am also confused about why swing / "moderate" areas seem to really dislike Kamala. But really I am most confused about what Trump policies the average voter believes will benefit them, and in what ways. Do people think they will make more money with Trump? House prices will go down?

I've made 3 separate topics asking about this game for opinions and no one was interested in talking about it, so I'm really thankful for this topic.

I already played 3 so I hope I can go back. This will be the first time I play 2, hope it's good. I'm waiting on a sale for it myself.
When I first played it, the mission structure was very annoying and I felt pressured to move quickly due to the ranking system. My advice is to not give a single thought to the ranking system and take your time exploring with each mission (if you so choose).

The reasons you are pulled out of the mansions are very contrived, but with a self aware humor to it. It was amusing to me the second time around the dumb reasons they would come up with. Ultimately, I think the mission structure made for some really tight level design for many missions. Then, there are a handful of obvious filler missions (usually based around following polterpup or hunting ghosts through areas you've explored previously), but I did not mind them so much since it was kind of fun to explore "fully accessible" mansions after various puzzles have been completed.

What does it do differently than the original that makes it so much better? Asking as someone who hasnt played any Luigis Mansion game besides the first
Not sure if it's better than the original. But the level design and puzzle design are really excellent all around. I was annoyed by the mission structure the first time around, and also generally annoyed at how many missions are "you're about to get to X, but Y shenanigans gets in your way and you need to deal with it." A lot of creativity in the different mansions as well.

The big downside to the mission structure for me is that getting collectables is a big hassle imo.
