The religious fundamentalist who welcomes queer folk, the senator who voted to strip away healthcare but agrees to fund an infrastructure bill, the right wing commentator who is unabashedly racist but thinks Trump is going too far with tariffs, all of these people should be welcomed into the fold.

The only ones you should be wary of are puritan leftists who won't forgive those kinds of allies. It needs to be made abundantly clear that they are not welcome. We need to face the facts that they are an insignificant minority and that courting the moderates and centrists is the only path forward.

Everybody actually loves status quo establishment Democrats, that's why they have a very secure second place across the political landscape.
