After my other cat got hit by a car, she ran away, would just come back for meals and was really stand-offish.

I finally got a hold of her yesterday, pet her a bit, then picked her up and took her inside.

She was freaked for a little bit, I think since the other cat was the dominant one she was just apprehensive about if she was still allowed in.

Now she's a total cuddlebug.

On the other hand, Fighters are almost as good for archery, and they do gain levels slightly more quickly (though the difference in levelling speed will probably only be enough to care about once you're a good way into BG2, if you get that far), so you could stick with your current roll and still have a decent bow-wielder.
