Yeah, I've actually come around a bit to the down dash too. It's not as hard to aim as it seems, I think I was just intuitively trying to do the Knight's pogo and that is not at all how you aim it.

The problem is not that everything is a "gentleman's agreement" and Trump's just disregarding norms that were never officially laid in stone because he is blatantly, demonstrably breaking the law over and over and over again.

The real root problem is the systemic rot that has taken hold of our legislative branch. There is no system so foolproof that it can survive half of its constituent parts malfunctioning and the Republican party is not just a malfunctioning part, it is actively working against the machine and it's been working for a long time.

I don't think we should just be accepting this as true facts journalism from a known liar just because he's on our side now.

Your shade did in the first game, I don't see why not. Oh, and my game crashed when I was DECENTLY FAR INTO FUCKING Hunter's March and I think it saved my cocoon.

The cocoon is interesting compared to the shade actually. You were actively weaker until you collected your shade and it was a hostile enemy, so you wanted to kill it ASAP if it was in a boss room. But the cocoon just sits there and gives you full silk when you destroy it, so it seems preferable to just leave it until you need the silk.

Yeah, the cocoon seems to generally spawn close to where you died.

I'm kind of glad I went to Hunter's March before fighting Lace. The pogo experience was really useful in that fight. Also the tool I found that basically gives you a one-use shield on your last mask of health, I'd still be fighting her because she 100% broke it.

The trap Hornet uses in the first game is a lot better than I was expecting. I thought it would work like it did in that game, just a static trap for enemies to run into, but it is WAAAAY better.

I was about to post that I must be missing something really obvious because I could not progress.

And then I found that I'd checked a spot on the map, marked it as inaccessible because it was gated off, completely missing that there was a ledge right above that I could now reach.

I made it all the way through Hunter's Rise...and I can't get any further. I'm guessing I need some kinda glide ability.

Finally found the bench in Hunter's March. I at least now know the area is intentionally incredibly fucking difficult, there's no way you trap a bench like that otherwise. Though maybe I'd be less charitable if it had killed me.

If you mean Silk Hearts, they let you regenerate one little notch of silk naturally.

I think a silk upgrade would be more useful than the mask tbh. Needing full silk to heal is a bigger hurdle than the amount of health.

I wonder if Hunter's March this early is sequence breaking a liiiiiittle bit. I feel like it'd be a lot more tolerable with just one needle upgrade. As it is now, the enemies are a bit too spongey.

Not only is this stupid, it's going to cost millions of dollars in rebranding.

I will say that so far at least, the dive kick is just a straight downgrade to the pogo. It's harder to aim to do the same thing for no apparent reason other than to just change it from the first game

Well I'm straight up stumped on where to go to progress next. Everything seems to require at least 1 movement ability I don't have. I've run around most of the map checking every unfinished path and I've got nothing.

Oh my god, I think we got stuck in the same place and I feel super dumb because I think what's messing me up is basically the exact same thing that got me stuck in early part of the first game.

The red cushion things are like the bounce mushrooms in Fungal Wastes.

Yeah, the two tools I've found so far that would take the place of the compass is this game's Gathering Swarm equivalent and something that makes enemies drop more crafting materials.

Yeah, the healing mechanic being different makes it a lot tougher IMO. You heal more, but needing a full silk bar is a big hurdle compared to squeezing out just enough soul for one focus.

And this is another thing, the dive kick seems tougher to use than just pogo'ing.

I will say there was a cute little spot which I'm almost certain was an intentional reference to a Greenpath skip. It's the same kind of ledge, the same kind of flying little mosquito enemy, and you can dive kick to get over an area you'd usually need a dash or double jump for.

And after you do that, you get an elevator to Bone Bottom and a spot you need even better dash jumping skills to get past lol.
