If I don't brush teeth before leaving the house I feel absolutely vile. The one time I forgot in the last few years, I bought a bad toothbrush & toothpaste from a petrol station and did it in the bathroom at work

If I have breakfast at home, it's after.

I hate having no breakfast, but sometimes I have it at work (I have an emergency supply of porridge pots in the cupboard).

If I wake up in time to do the full routine, brushing teeth is last. I don't get why you'd compromise the taste

Outer Wilds legit took me 20, 25 hours to finish (admittedly I play slow)

Whoever told you it could be done in 22 minutes was massaging the truth at best.

Oh yeah I never mastered the RC ship and I think it made me anxious about piloting the real thing. There's a chance it genuinely delayed how long I took before becoming fully confident with the ship. I didn't love the ship controls, but I grew to appreciate them.

And the rest of the package is mind-blowing.

Everything in Outer Wilds is kind of purposeful.

Yeah I never found it aimless at any point. I picked a place, went there, and within a couple of hours had a series of tasks and things to build towards, places to go, etc.

That said, I got the meditate to next loop thing pretty early on B8's recommendation, and that made things much easier and smoother.

Have you considered that maybe you're just bad at it? Gears and Gambits really isn't that hard, especially since the game gives you a number of presets you can use.

I never had time to be bad at it. Rejected immediately as bad and a youtube guide situation. I guess I am or would be bad at it, but I started it and I was just like "nope, fuckin done". Minigame burnout maybe.

Oh yeah, Condor was bad, but I forgot how bad it was - I identified it as "bad" and copied a YT video move-for-move straight away, so it ended up being painless

Gears and Gambits I identified as bad, did the same thing, it didn't work at first, and that made it even worse

I mean, yesterday we lost the politics tag and today this is being allowed. We will always be at the mercy of Fandom's capricious whims. I was told by Toast that it could change. But this is the "for now" stance.

One of my favorite villains in a videogame - I think 1-4 has been largely outclassed by the stuff that came after it, with the exception of the fact that they've never matched Von Karma. He is almost the sole reason that 1-4, in my eyes, can still hang with 5-6, 3-5, 2-4 etc.

Never played the Edgeworth games in fairness.

Yeah

I think I might give the edge to Remake because my playthrough for Rebirth ended up lasting 10 weeks, and I've still got a bunch of postgame shizz to do, but one area I'd definitely say Rebirth was better is that the padding was like...the normal kind of padding. It's that open world padding that I'm now so used to it doesn't feel as obvious as, say, The Drum.

I'm on Chapter 17 my first playthrough of Remake. I have no nostalgia for the original having only played the first 10ish hours about five years ago. That still gives me a base for which to compare Remake too, however, and I am exhausted by the amount of filler in the game. Well, maybe not the amount but rather the type? Rather than things being expanded and explored in greater depth, many missions and tasks feel drawn out and bolted on. It's fun enough, but I'm ready for this playthrough to be done (or at least to move on to Intermission) and the promise of Rebirth has been a strong motivator.

I'll edit to say that I do like the character development and interactions. I think that part was done well and I don't really have any trouble with that despite some at-times weird voice acting and audio mixing.

I've said this before but Remake has prime examples to me of stuff being fleshed out (Wall Market) and some of being fleshed out (Ghost Train section). Like some of the extra stuff was good, some was unnecessary and felt like what it was - a way to lengthen the midgar section.

Of the core campaign experience within Rebirth I can't think of anything that was padding in that way, but there's plenty of more typical open world padding.

Outer Wilds
Metal Gear Solid 2
Sonic 2
XIII

The first three mostly represent different eras of my life. Adult, adolescent, kid. XIII obviously stands alone due to other reasons. Outer Wilds and MGS2 are my two favourite games, but Sonic 2 and XIII would be lower down in the top 10, so it's not necessarily "my 4 favorite games". MGS3 and RE4 felt a bit redundant in this. Tough to exclude Pokemon though, either RBY (childhood) or BW (university).

Couple of things. Do you need to finish a chapter for any progress to be saved
E.g. if I go polish off a sidequest or something do I then have to see the chapter through to the end for my game to register that I finished it? Like if I do that bee quest in Nibelheim do I then need to finish the whole chapter to keep the exp? I seem to remember that being a thing in remake or something like that.

Anywhere good for AP farming? Same place with the bees?
Also, to finish the game in hard mode, I take it it's ok to just replay each chapter separately and complete them one at a time (so I can hypothetically do chapter 1 in hard mode and then like do another chapter on easy and I'll never need to replay C1 again in hard mode).

I feel like I actually felt the impact more since they teased her being saved so much

There was some amount of ambiguity over whether she was dead and by the time it was beyond doubt I was done. Kind of a shame.

Anyway, might go for the Plat. I'm level 50 or so. How would you guys recommend I proceed?

Did every quest available except UPA and the final Photorelic quests (I felt underlevelled), and I guess I didn't bother with hard mode Condor or Gambits.

I read about a strat including the Nibel bees to farm exp. Is it worth powering up to level 70 or so before doing hard mode?

Also!

That said they blunted Aerith's death to the point of almost non-impact, and that's really fuckin dumb.
