I am confused as to why anyone wants more things on their burger. The meat, the bun, maybe a little moisture and/or one other flavoring agent, and you can stop right there. Please don't add things with texture though. That will make me gag the food right out of my mouth. Nothing stops me from eating food faster than putting onions on them, and other crunchy or squishy vegetables aren't far behind.

PS5 versions of the games have notably higher input lag baked in so if you're used to playing on PC it can screw up your flow. Also supposedly they've had regular issues with overheating, USB ports melting, throttling, etc. at tournaments

There's such a gulf here between the creativity, soul and passion on display here and the actual gameplay, but darn if I don't smile and feel warm inside every time the game is mentioned online or represented in some other Sega property.

Pretty much, yeah - at least when we do this on the Steam Deck you can set it so you don't have to authenticate when switching profiles so it ends up being roughly as smooth as having multiple people sharing a Switch. That way everyone keeps their saves etc. regardless of where they're playing. I'd imagine/hope that the Steam Machine is similarly easy to configure.

If you're in a situation where multiple people in a house are trying to play games on shared hardware, the move is definitely for each person to have their own Steam account and link them all through family sharing. I have a similar set-up with my fiancee and it works great.

Dynasty Warriors Origins expansion turned out to be the absolute best case scenario, four mini paths for allying with everyone who doesn't make it past this first game PLUS new weapons and playable Jane Musou? I can't wait to dump another 100 hours into this beautiful game

Size was the only thing keeping Hornet down - she'd absolutely destroy a shrunken DK.

The last one gave me a sense of completion on my adolescence that's difficult to describe. Very worth it if you grew up with Eva at the minimum.

System Shock and Deus Ex are Immersive Sims but Half-Life is just a straight up FPS.

Can't rate as I've never really played it outside of a sad attempt as a child. It's always loomed in my mind as this legendary entity from which all cryptic puzzlers are descended. I should probably play through it at some point given how much I've enjoyed games explicitly inspired by it!

I look forward to playing this on PC in late 2028 or early-mid 2029.

Just kidding, that's too far off for me to actually think about it seriously in any way other than how old I'll be by then. Life is too short for these dev cycles.

Got the new ending after finishing what I guess is effectively the NG+ incantation on the new patch

(No actual spoilers, just my reaction) My god that was such a wild improvement, I kind of can't believe the game launched the way it did when they clearly had this cooking the whole time. Going to hope an interview or something in the future clarifies what exactly happened but with this change IMO the game goes from 9/10 to 10/10

I've been having a lot of fun with Fate's Whim runs lately! One of my biggest complaints in Hades 1 was that you could eliminate almost all the randomness past a certain point, which felt kinda blargh in a roguelike for me. This completely solves that issue with a great alternate way to play that embraces randomness while opening up the door to some downright ludicrous outcomes.

Hidden Blades aspect is so god damn fun and satisfying at high rank, geez man

Credits roll is described by the devs themselves as the "true end" - epilogue is just a bonus as Mac said. But also if you weren't playing on the beta then there's also the updated ending to consider I suppose

Haven't been able to play yet but boy the reaction in this topic is wildly out of step with that from the wider character action community (And I don't think it's just that they're starved for games since Lost Soul Aside wasn't long ago and was totally lambasted)

If you feel that the gang is "alive" and Verso's canvas is more important than the family then you pick the Maelle ending but recognize it's an awful choice for both her and Verso. (I chose this on my first clear!)

If you feel breaking this unhealthy cycle and being able to move on is more important then you pick Verso and recognize it's a better choice for him and Maelle but comes at the cost of the world you've come to know. (Honestly not even necessarily at the cost of the characters though as they could in theory be repainted after Maelle is in a better place mentally - they may not be exactly the same as their prior forms but this is already true of all the people Maelle brings back within the canvas)

Yeah I literally just moved over to the patch and used the new incantation and combined with Martin's reaction above I'm already prepared to say there's pretty much zero chance this was just whipped up over last four weeks, especially not given any time for seeing reactions and identifying a need for it.

Feels weird that they had such a long and comfortable (i.e. they clearly polished the shit out the rest of the game) early access period and yet were apparently rushed to release the ending before they were done? Well, I'm glad they ended up doing this rather than leave a relatively minor (though perhaps more major for others) stain on what is otherwise such a masterpiece!

Blocked on the first three relationships I've attempted to max out until more PLOT happens. Finally got the nectar recipe so I suppose I can start speeding some others along!

Vastly prefer my home theater these days and have for many years, honestly not even sure what the last "great" one was. Crowds are a detriment rather than a boon to me and I don't feel like the baseline theater experience (or even the completely empty one that based on what my theater-going pals tell me is growing increasingly more common) is remotely worth the money compared to what I can have at home

I cleared a Rivals 3 surface run on my first try and it was some of the best Hades I've ever played. Amazed I made it but honestly it's kind of insane that you can lose all your Death Defiances, then just immediately switch to Gorgon Amulet to summon Athena and reroll your way into reliably getting all your DDs back. Even with that though, I ended with 9 life left.

Tried picking up the Infernal Contract (post-game) for the first time. Ended my run in the first zone lmao - bro is exactly as fierce as I'd expect.

Isaac was never an easy game! I've also been thinking of checking it out again now that item descriptions are actually just woven into the game - could have always had them with mods but by the time I was of a mind to implement them I had already put the game down.

Great musou game with essentially endless playability through its excellent Adventure mode maps. Legit one of the best modes the genre has ever seen. The amount of support this got after launch is truly a marvel and a total blessing for the specific cross-section of folks who love both musou and Zelda.

Well that's certainly helpful, thanks! Guessing on at least one of these I was just getting blocked by the dialogue queue of beating the game recently. Any run now for my first one, in that case!

I'm 34 nights in and haven't unlocked any yet, beginning to wonder what the triggers are! Assumed it was tied to leveling weapons as in the first game but I've got plenty leveled with at least two aspects maxed out and still nothing so far :(

On that note, I just rolled credits the other day! Overall I don't mind the ending much and even enjoyed it, but it definitely felt weirdly rushed and I'm not a big fan of how little agency Melinoe had in the actual outcome. At least Zagreus was delightfully in-character, but this isn't his story! There's some thematically cool stuff with lost time and meaning for existence that Melinoe and Chronos mirror eachother on, but it hasn't been explored much at all at this point resulting in both characters feeling a bit unfulfilled. Entirely possible that my complaints can be alleviated in post-game/epilogue stuff so I'll hope for that but at minimum Hades 1 definitely felt both more complete and significantly more tidy by its credit roll.

Game is an absolute joy to play so I definitely see myself continuing to chug full force until the epilogue at minimum.

I think it's finally happened - I haven't played for a week! Knew this was coming since I was hitting a point with recent patches where I was missing several days of log-ins a month, letting my stamina overflow and even keeping all events and story until the last week or so pretty consistently. I think the game is honestly better than ever and continuing to grow positively, but it's just getting harder for me right now to mentally find space for a game that sets its own schedule, even as relatively chill about it as ZZZ is.

May come back to it at some point or play more casually but we're just totally drowning in other kickass games right now and it's been very nice to just be able to play those and enjoy my free time without worrying about "ah geez I better remember to do my weeklies on Sunday night" for the 8th week in a row.

I've gotten the dress to the end a couple of times purely through the Arachne keepsake, it's very fun being able to keep some of those effects for an entire run. Probably becomes much harder with higher Fear but I was also surprised to find that achievement was so rare.

Every time I see an ep 8 hater I remember "without love it cannot be seen"
