The only BS star in the game is in that secret cloud mini level where you have to use the wing cap over and over again. And you get booted to outside the castle if you fall. Other than that one its all reasonable, never got the hate for rainbow ride.

Honestly I jumped the gun and made the title of this thread without fully understanding the video. The tool does not turn the .n64 files into .exe applications instantly.

it basically does all the decomp work instantly. From there, the code still needs to be compiled into a game.

Still, huge news. Decomp projects take multiple years, but like in the video, they might take as little as a few days.

the video has a link to the compiled version of Majoras Mask. Havent checked it out but you should be able to download and play out of the box

was just checking out of curiosity, have you checked out Fallout Community Edition? I dont exactly think its a source port like GZDoom or OpenRCT, but the goal is meant to make Fallout 1 and 2 optimized for modern operating systems. Didnt look into it much but consider taking a look.

Youd need to compile the code after the tools breaks it down. Sort of similar to how the Mario64 PC port works.

Eventually a really user-friendly automatic compiling tool came out for it, so Id expect something similar soon. And as Nerrel mentions in the video, the compiled ports can potentially be shared online with no legal issues.

So a process that took multiple years with Mario64PC and OoTShipOfHarnikan will now take mere weeks

A re-worked version of Other M would work great as a prequel, IMO. A lot of things would need to be changed but the character arc would make a lot of sense.

Drake wants to have his cake and eat it too. Hes the most popular singer because he makes music that is catchy and has broad appeal, but has much less substance than others like J Cole and Kendrick who are actually respected for their lyrical abilities. Drake having a team of ghostwriters write his music now does not help matters.

Hes by far the most commercially successful but he also wants to be in the conversation as a legitimate hip hop goat, which hell never be, the culture doesnt accept him. Totally fine for him to just be a hit maker, as long as he owns that role. But he wants his cake and wants to eat it too.

Also instead of evolving as an artist and contributing to the culture, he just latches on to the next popular wave, and leeches off the culture. Hes gone through his soft boy phase, Jamaican and Caribbean phase, his mob boss phase, his FBoy phase, his drill music phase, and so on. Not because he organically shifted styles and experimented with his sound like Kanye or Tyler the Creator, but because those genres were popular at the time.

Hes salty about that and makes sly digs towards everyone, oversteps boundaries with other peoples wives and girlfriends, both ex and current, and keeps artists like PartyNextDoor and Division under his thumb, and steals their songs (tried to do the same to Weeknd), and overall is a culture vulture. Acts black and plays into the culture when it is convenient for him but never speaks on actual issues and experiences.

For all his popularity, Drake is not accepted by the grassroots hip hop community, and in many ways, in a corporatized, sanitized, focus-group-tested, made-for-general-audiences, industry plant. Like Kanye said, Drake has a sugar daddy named UMG.

Another question! What software do I get if I want to monitor framerate in games and cpu/ram usage and stuff? Not that I really care about that stuff in the immediate future.

As of right now, I haven't actually run too many intensive games on my PC. I built it 2 or 3 years ago at this point and have been focusing on classics via emulators and stuff like Portal and Half-Life, so nothing modern or intensive yet. So I've never needed to tweak settings or use DLSS or anything YET, but I'm just wondering how things will work once I start playing games that were released in the 2020s

I'm guessing it's some mega corp that bought out GameFAQS (Or Gamespot technically) and has been doing some anti-consumer and anti-creator things, but can I get some extra details? What did they do? What does it mean for this site moving forward?

As long as its consistent I dont see why thered be a difference. There probably is, but youd have to look into Gamers Nexus analysis of frame time etc. to find it. The difference would most likely be in frame time spikes / 1% lows.

I cap my frame rate at 200 on a 144 Hz monitor, but thats because I turn off Vsync and when I was playing Bloodstained it was running at like 650 FPS and causing coil whine that annoyed me lmao.

if your monitor is 144hz, why go for a frame rate of anything above that? Whats the point? Also can you explain vsync to me? I usually just set my games to match my monitor (144hz), so would vsync even matter for me?

Do you actually mean High, or do you mean Ultra / Extreme / etc? I have a 3080, and I feel like on High you should probably be OK on most games. Ultra and such are past the point of diminishing returns for what youre trying to do IMO.

PC games have had mods since forever. Check GameNexus or GameBanana. Idk about Fallout 1 but Im sure there are many Quality-of-Life enhancements you can add

no, think of it more like any old game on steam. The file is the game itself, you wouldnt need an emulator to run the file, if that makes sense. The game just becomes an app you can launch natively

Only on console. If a game is on PC then no, 60fps is the MINIMUM standard, but the expectation should be 120hz or 144hz
