| WazzupGenius00 05/22/17 7:43:06 PM #11 | I notice Final Fantasy 2, 11, and 14 are absent. 2 is probably borderline but could be seen as the predecessor to SaGa (including The Final Fantasy Legend series). 11 is notable as the first successful console MMO. 14 is perhaps notable for the way its reception was complete garbage at first, and the game was so thoroughly reworked that it's become one of the best-received MMOs of the last decade. Honestly I question FF3's worthiness for a list like this more than any of those. All the rest of the series I can find good reasons for including, but 3 didn't really do or inspire anything that Dragon Quest 3 hadn't already. Heaven series (Riviera, Yggdra Union, Knights in the Knightmare, etc) - you won't find many RPGs with more unique mechanics than these --- |

You can think of Big Boss as the narrator (as your commander at FOXHOUND, you can call him/he calls you on the codec for comments on whatever is going on) but toward the end his orders start to become ways to get you lost or killed, even telling you to reset the game console, and of course at the very end it turns out he's been the leader of Outer Heaven since the beginning and intended for you to die when he sent you on this mission --- |

I haven't played Super but it seems insane to prefer the random method, mostly because success rates were so low for so many Pokémon. Having to go through 40+ floors just for a single digit percent chance to recruit the boss at the end is the worst shit. Don't even look at PMD: Gates to Infinity though, it's straight trash But the real answer here is that you should play the non-Pokémon games, Shiren and even Torneko for PS1 are so much better --- |
