So you have a couple different skill ratings the game keeps track of, your public SR, and your hidden SR. Your hidden SR is a closer approximation of your actually skill level at the game than your public SR, which is really a combination of skill and victories/losses. This season they decided your hidden SR should be factored in more for your placements than in past seasons, thus everyone reporting lower placement than usual.

Finally won a game, because I decided the only way we were going to keep the first point on Eichenwalde is if I went Bastion. Didn't die once. XD Their entire team was based around trying to stop me, but that didn't matter cus I had an Ana and a Mercy keeping me alive while I just sat there and endlessly mowed down the enemy team.

Another loss, and it was stupid as fuck, my team was GARBAGE. Just terrible. They kept making nonsense moves and call outs. Nobody was focusing anything, people were screaming at each other over nothing. At one point, somebody was bragging about having top damage, and I had gold with over 35k damage done. on ZENYATTA. And I was the only card on my team, with top damage. :P


Fuck it, at least I got a loot box with Tracer's new skin. <3

So on PTR, your damage stat now only includes damage done directly to heroes. Turret and barrier damage are no longer accounted for. So it already feels like when I play Soldier I'm the only one doing damage to the enemy Reinhardt's barrier. I mean, that is part of Soldier's job, to break barriers, but EVERYBODY should be trying to break barriers, not just Soldier. But now since your stats don't increase for barrier damage, are people just going to ignore them even more?

Season 5 has begun!

Done 3 placements so far. First one was a total stomp in our favor, 3 to 0. Second one was a fucking joke. Lijiang Tower, we had a Symmetra that was clearly trolling. They wouldn't switch off, they just placed the teleporter in the middle of the map with no protection so it was destroyed like immediately. Third match, I was asked to play Reinhardt, I told them I'm no good at him. First two points were a disaster so I switched off to Roadhog. We held the last point no problem. Then on attack I was soldier and we destroyed them and pretty much sat on the payload from start to finish and won.

So apparently all the crashing and freezing happening on the PTR is due to a memory leak introduced with the inclusion of adjustable gravity physics. That's what PTR is for, they should be able to get this fixed before the update goes live.

Oh, yeah, I FINALLY bought components for a new computer this morning!
GTX 1060 3GB GDDR5
8GB DDR4 Memory
1TB HDD
128GB SSD
Intel Core i5 7th gen 7400 (3.0 GHz)

Not bad on a budget. Should last me a couple years before I need to replace things. First thing I will need to replace probably will be that CPU, but that will be a ways down the line.

Also purchased a new monitor, a 24" Samsung LCD LED. so same size and make as my current one, but it should be able to display colors correctly(my current one sometimes loses red color, it's over 5 years old and has been moved a lot). I know I should probably go with a different brand since Samsung usually has AMD technology, but I find they're more reliable than Acer(my last Acer lasted me less than a month before it started to fail on me). All in all, not a bad deal for under $1000, it will be able to play most games on very high or ultra settings. I'm also going with fans for this machine. My current machine uses a liquid cooling system, and while it is quiet(well, not anymore as it has aged) and reliable, I'm surprised that it has survived this long(Over 5 years, nearly 5 and a half) and I actually had to replace it about a month after I got it.


Bottom line, if I still get black screen freezes while playing Overwatch, I'll throw a table.

I was Torb in a match, and it was Overtime, but my whole team just died and their whole team was on point. Someone told me to get on point like it would matter.

The one you're talking about had the flag or something though right? I didn't see what happened in that situation.

Oh yeah, so he carried the flag all the way back to our base, then instead of capping, he walked over to a corner to build his turret and the enemy Lucio trapped him in the corner and killed him.

Event 7 has been datamined as featuring "golden lootboxes", which are the standard lootboxes painted gold. No clue what that means.

People think that the Golden Loot boxes aren't really going to be a part of any event, they will be a permanent feature that have higher chances at legendary and epic items, and low chances of duplicates. There's no real evidence for this, but Jeff did say that there has been a lot of internal discussion recently since people are complaining that it doesn't feel good to buy a bunch of lootboxes and get nothing but duplicates.
