I played 3 about a year and a half ago and thought it was great, but damn going back to it after playing the newer games makes it a lot harder to play. Not being able to control your party members is just artificial difficulty (imo) and there are other little quirks about the battle system that were ironed out in later entries. It's not a bad game by any means, but I'd be lying if I said I have the same opinion now that I did the first time I played it, mainly because its sequels showed just how unrefined the gameplay really was

I've heard the psp version actually improves the battle system to make it closer to 4's. Maybe I oughta check that out

Don't care what the haters say. Soundtrack is great, gameplay is addictive, and the game is full of charm. You can tell the devs had fun making it.

I think people just hated it because it was another P4 spinoff and the concept was admittedly a little bizarre. It's still a blast though and I love it. Nobody gave it a fair chance

There was one episode where a clone betrays the Republic and it's revealed that his reason for doing so is because he feels that he is nothing more than a disposable life form, and he's not wrong

Does he remember in real time though? I know it seemed that way when he remembered Captain Cold, but just a few episodes back he told Caitlin everything Barry would say to her word for word before that event actually happened.

It seems to me that the writers are inconsistent and just doing whatever's convenient. It's kinda stupid actually

My only gripe with the switcheroo theory is that Barry would eventually have to find out which means Savitar would have memories of finding out.

Unless of course Barry doesn't find out until after the time remnant that becomes Savitar is created, since from that point forward Savitar wouldn't have Barry's memories anymore. If it really is HR, though, it would really cheapen the impact of that whole end scene imo and would feel like a total copout.

Anyway in the preview it looks like Savitar and Barry have a sort of heart to heart enough for Barry to figure out his identity on his own. Savitar then calmly says "so you've finally figured it out" almost like he's relieved.

It kinda felt like a "Im you and you're me" kind of moment. Of course I could totally be wrong, but with how similar the show's version of Savitar is to the comics' Future Flash I don't think it's entirely outside the realm of possibility.

But I mean knowing this show it probably will be something dumb like Ronnie

Like, I don't like how the menus are presented. It just looks like there's a lot going on; like they were trying really hard to make everything look cool but it's just kinda stressful on the eyes, at least for me. I just finished Golden not too long ago and the menus in that were clean and neat and easy to look at. Why does every menu have to have the text be all crooked and overly stylized? I'm sure I'll get used to it but damn

Game is still fantastic and this is more of a minor complaint than anything

I finished it a few nights ago, but got the bad ending. I reloaded and kept going with the good path, but that shit is way longer and I just lost steam after beating the real final boss.

I didn't get the Golden ending, but I still got the good ending for beating Adachi. By the time the optional final dungeon came along I just couldn't force myself to do it because I was so burnt out at that point. I just said fuck it I'll watch the ending on YouTube

Having played through 3 FES last year, I've gotta say that overall I think I enjoyed 4 more, which is pretty amazing because I thought 3 was fantastic. While I really liked 3's cast (yes even Yukari), I got the vibe that 4's cast was a tight knit group who really love each other. 3 felt like a bunch of guys who really didn't like each other that much, but reluctantly worked together because they shared the same power.

Also, I enjoyed the small gameplay changes. Controlling your party members is a godsend, and the fact that they get skills from their social links is great.

Inaba felt more lively, despite being a smaller town compared to 3's city, and it just felt like there was more to do. I had a harder time managing my days this time around.

However, I think I liked 3's soundtrack more. I loved the emphasis on smooth jazz and funk. 4's was good, but Mass Destruction > Time to Make History and Reach Out to the Truth.

Anyway, I have my steelbook of 5 ready to go, but I think I need a break first.
