I'm not sure if I'm ready to put "downloading a 20 year old video game to play on an emulator during my lunch breaks" on the list of reasons I may eventually succumb to cartoonish supervilliany, but I could certainly see how trying to platform with touch controls might push someone over the edge.

That being said, I'm not even sure if the depriving content creators of income argument holds for older titles and consoles since even if you're going to pay for an older system or title used or new in box, you're only paying a third party seller that hoarded it.

You may as well make the same argument for buying used games at GameStop since the creator isn't seeing a dime from that purchase either. You might have a marginal case with VC releases and the like, but those are a small percentage of the titles out there where the rights could even be worked out. Who are you ripping off when the developer went under a decade ago? I get the argument for current media, but it's a pretty paper thin argument for retro gaming when all you're left with is a specious issue of morality at best.

But then you can't give money to a corporation!

So to start off though, I just just explain what the hell plastic mold injection is before I explain what goes wrong with it. So it's actually a straightforward idea; take liquid plastic, and jam it into a hole so the liquid plastic fills it, and then the plastic cools and hardens, and suddenly you have some plastic that looks like the hole you put it in!

Now, what goes wrong with that?
Well, for starters you can have a simple problem of not actually enough plastic going into the mold (the metal hole you put the plastic in), that's called a short shot: https://www.paulsontraining.com/images/shortshot.jpg
For obvious reasons this is bad.

The opposite of that is when you have too much plastic going into the mold, which is called flash: https://www.paulsontraining.com/images/injection-molded-part-flash.jpg
You can actually find flash in a lot, lot of places if you start looking at stuff that's made (I even found a stupid amount of flash in a milk jug once). Normally though it's monitored because customers don't like looking at parts that are structurally fine, but have a little diddly bit on the end and they think it's a bad part. Fixing it is as easy as just taking a knife to it though, so it's not a big deal.

Now things start getting more complicated with the actual plastic itself though.

So if you have any plastic that's even slightly wet, you get something named Splay which is caused by the water actually evaporating and not letting the plastic melt all the way:

Nobody cares about it if nobody sees it though, but you can't reasonably fix it, just sort of cover it up.

You can sometimes fix this stuff by popping them with a knife and then rubbing it down with your fingernail or finger, which sucks doing it after a few hours.

All of this is just from a few things, there's so goddamn much that can go wrong with this stuff.

My gf and I finished watching American Gods.
Overall pretty good, the CGI is crazily hit or miss (I feel like there were two companies making it at times), there is a few boring episodes that I felt like dragged on too much, but it's a damn fine adaptation for the book and I'm happy to watch the next season.

a) a government building
b) a specific speed trap (just gotta learn those)
c) a school zone (holy shit go the speed limit there, espically during night)

Go the speed limit until you feel comfortable going like 70 though and it's not a big deal.

Some shows are better with a slow burn, though. I almost wish streaming shows came with a warning if they are binge-watching friendly (yes, I'm aware the distinction is very subjective). I've had people tell me they just couldn't get into Westworld, for example, and when they listed the reasons why, it became clear most of her issues stemmed from her binge watching it, when it's definitely more of a slow-burn show.

I've already read the book, there's nothing spoiler-y I don't already know.
