My vote goes to The Flood from Halo. Crazy space undead Zerg; not only are they reinforced by every one of your dead, but their knowledge is added to a hive mind.

A small outbreak kills soldiers, learns to use their weapons, spreads to civilian population centers, massively bolsters its numbers, takes civilian craft, uses sheer numbers to suicide charge and board military warships, learns from their dead crews how to pilot, fight, and maintain them, and then it spreads everywhere unstoppably through space.

It took the Halo Array, the ultimate suicide attack, to stop them.

Yet another reason The Covenant is the GOAT Halo level. That piano theme kicking in as Truth tries to hold the Control Room with everything he has left and a pair of Scarabs drop in to stop you in the middle of a melee between the joint UNSC-Sangheili and Covenant vehicles/aircraft for control of the light bridge.

I shouldn't be able to button mash and beat someone with much more experience than me.

But in fighting games that I don't even play because I never enjoyed them, I've gone in blind with no knowledge of the controls and done just that. Repeatedly.

RTS is peak skill. This is not debatable.
