I made my own ice cream once when the machine was on sale and it didn't taste that great, so I never did it again.

It depends on their contract but most developers don't directly benefit from sales, it's the publishers who do, which is why it's the publishers or those making decisions on their behalf who often are the ones who make the requests for games to be changed to "fit a wider audience".

Naughty Dog for example, were so upset about the changes they were asked to make to Tawna in Crash Bandicoot, they practically removed her in subsequent games because they felt she was no longer the character they created and wanted her to be.

The U.S. congress seems to do this quite a lot. When they want to pass a bill that benefits corporations and others who they benefit from helping rather than the citizens, they intentionally give it a misleading name to try and have to slip through without the public noticing.

No it's because the tournament between the universes was something Goku asked Zen-Oh to do simply because he (Goku) was bored.

The show tries to justify it by saying Zen-Oh was going to erase a bunch of universes anyway right before Goku asked because there were "too many universes", but it's hard to see Zen-Oh actually coming up with that by himself because Zen-Oh has the mind of a child. They just want to have fun and be entertained.

I don't think anyone (the viewers) actually believes all the universes are going to stay erased regardless, so the threat of the universes being erased seems like a fake threat.
