Two of my three close friends are Afriacan American and I have a confederate battle flag on my class ring. But history likes to oversimplify the war to try and justify what the federal government did during the conflict. These are the same kinds of people that claim Abraham Lincoln was a champion of freedom even though his government had one of the worst records of violating the rights of its citizens in the history of the US if not the worst such record. Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and right to a jury trial were all suspended when the government or military of the time found it convenient to do so. And of course Lincoln suspended hapeus corpus long before the law giving him the authority to do so was passed then ignored a court ruling that he didn't have that authority and kept right on jailing people without charging them with a crime. In fact the editor of a newspaper that published an editorial condemning such arrests was held for more then a year and the paper shut down. I'm not saying you ARE racist. But did you really just use the "I can't be racist, some of my best friends are black" argument?

Now, as for property destruction, if BLM is such a violent, extremist group, shouldn't the dozens of cities that have official BLM chapters have in increase in property damage? You only picked the cities with massive protests from BLM and other groups, where there's been a high-profile killing. And you think BLM is responsible for all that property damage? Individuals riot. Some random guy is the one breaking stuff, it's not a coordinated attack by BLM members. Again, BLM doesn't advocate violence or destruction by any means.

Danny's got privilege coming out his ass.

There is more than enough back and forth between all the heroes that involves catching everyone up to speed on the important plot bits, including the viewer. And unlike the other characters, Danny Rand is not nuanced. Matt, Jessica, and Luke all have moments where you can see where they're coming from because you know what they've been through personally, but Danny has nothing like that. He wants to kill all the ninjas, and that never changes. Well yeah. You don't have to watch any of the shows to understand The Defenders, the show does a pretty good job of that. But if you wanna know why things are the way they are, Daredevil S2 and Iron Fist are the most relevant to the plot.

Confederate statues and monuments aren't religious monuments (that would go against one of the South's core beliefs). It's not cultural oppression either because the Confederacy doesn't (or at least shouldn't) represent Southern culture.
