However, modern day Flash was a bully with depth which you learn about later with being beaten by his father and then a war hero who does become friends with Peter. In the Spectacular Spider-Man show, Flash towards the end of season 1 was the one to break through to Peter and explain that he was pushing his friends away when he was under the influence of the symbiote. He would not physically assault him or anything, just bully him with words as a jock and throw things at him. You also get the dichotomy with Randy Robertson being a jock who is respectful to everyone, but still friends with Flash.
