i actually think sarah had a really strong reaction and i thought it was the most genuine that she wasn't willing to say "yeah, it's okay" to jeff. i think she also really didn't know how to articulate that, partially because she was so surprised by her own reaction.

i always want to take these things with a grain of salt as far as edits go because i'm sure everyone had a lot to say and they put it together in the way that most comprehensively (in their view) told the story that zeke wanted.

so that sarah's response had a lot to do with her or that we didn't see ozzy say much really just says more about what they chose to show than anything else

also i assume inviso is gonna give natalie a ton of love, which is excellent since she is probably the most underrated winner from a general viewpoint. i really wish she had gotten onto game changers; maybe she would've gotten the respect she deserves

couple thoughts since i've last followed this list:

richard is really hard to quantify, given that he really "invented" the first survivor strategy. that said, he shouldn't be #1. i can accept that ranking and understand it, but personally i don't think it took a level of gameplay that matches the top winners.

todd is too high at #4. (inviso's spot seems pretty good) he was really, really good with the jury but made some not-great decisions and managed to get credit for all the good moves of his alliance. obviously there's some benefits in that but #4 puts him below some winners who completely dominated and shifted all the right times. (or stopped the game from shifting against them)

correct, he said something really stupid and offensive and thought he could pull it off as a gameplay move. when the response became immediately clear that he had crossed a line far further than he believed, he got remorseful. like i said, i don't think it's insincere - he really didn't know how exactly what he had done. but it's not up to me to judge whether his response is worthy of forgiveness.

i don't really see a reason to blast varner (though thats not gonna stop anyone)

as far as i'm concerned, the only person whose opinion is relevant on what varner did is zeke himself
and how varner deals with what he did is ultimately up to him

i don't doubt that he felt sincerely bad afterwards, but i'm on team sarah: he said something he knew crossed a line in order to try and garner sympathy for the game. because he didn't realize the consequences of what he said doesn't excuse it - he deserved to be (essentially) thrown out of the game like he was and he earned whatever amount of shunning and disdain (without violence or epithets) pushed his way for what he did.

i haven't played as much empires to rank the cards among my all-time faves but chariot race is a blast and i love groundskeeper. the castles are just rad in general.

courtier is easily my favorite 2nd edition card, though many of them are pretty cool too

she honestly proved herself again tonight, even in defeat. she was too much of a threat and got thrown to the wrong side of the numbers, and she almost spun it around anyway.

and i respect her exit. she seemed like she was enjoying herself a lot this season, probably expecting that she wouldn't win given the huge target on her back.

i couldnt stand parvati in cook islands and thought she was a great character in subsequent returns

casting isn't always on point but i will give them the benefit of the doubt. felt the same way about the returnees this year, though i'll still laugh at sierra and hali being "game changers"

amazing run

tough to lose at the end after the 16-0 run, but the zags defense tightened up and got the job done. good on em, a lesser team would've fallen apart (remember virginia last year?)

adam was a really fun winner but i dont think he belongs ahead of sophie tbqh. he was a very adaptive player but made a lot of mistakes, and i think that more properly belongs below the natalies and sophies and sandras who knew what to do socially.

i had a pretty good strategy the last time i played where i had a ton of cowboys and built the building that lets you cycle a card through your deck per cowboy, right before kansas city. that one allowed me to make big deliveries without a super great deck.

i still am not sure how good building is, though. nobody has really come close to placing the high number buildings in any of the games i've played so far

this seems correct. really hard to drum up much controversy so far. michele should be ahead of jenna though, i think. the one argument you could make for putting michele at least a decent bit higher is that unlike many of these "weaker" winners, she actually went up against the person that "should've won" in the final vote and won anyway, rather than just taking them out before ftc

yeah this bottom tier isnt going to be that controversial i suppose. i mean, i am with the viewpoint that winning immunities when you have to, to win the game, isn't something to be discounted entirely (or viewed as a detriment even), but that is still only a small portion of the game and rarely a winning move

yeah they are probably one of my top three favorite villain teams of all time, mostly because they got their comeuppance, and weren't actually legitimately terrible people (like jonathan from tar6)

i was really bummed out when kym and alli lost but the fact that the season could be an all-timer without them is a testament to the quality of the cast
