I like Louise (and everyone on Bob's Burgers really) but she's still the onl,y winner that kind of baffles me. She beat every Game of Thrones character premiering in S1, including Dany, Arya, Tyrion, Drogo, Hodor and The Hound (and that's just who made it in; Jaime, Cersei, Jon, Ned, etc. weren't even contenders). That's the one year where I feel like if it was run again, the results would be drastically different. 2011's finals only had 13 voters as opposed to this year's 33.

See, this. This right here. You're saying Ariel should be beloved not because of what she is as a character, but because of the role she played in Disney's revival as a company. I could easily say that it was a dramatic shift in Disney's art style, plus a real focus on making musicals, that made TLM successful. Ariel just happened to be the lead character of that movie.

And no, you're not allowed to handwave a bizarre hatred of Mulan when literally the only word that doesn't describe BELLE in that last description is "action".

My post wasn't meant to be taken so seriously, lol. I didn't fall in love with Ariel because of the impact her film had on the Disney renaissance, because I didn't know what that meant at the time. But hating on Ariel is basically like victim-blaming. A young naive girl with a bunch of emotions is drawn in by a predator (Ursula). I guess the concept of dramatic irony is lost on simpletons, because of course Ursula is obviously evil to the AUDIENCE.

And Belle is actually flawed as I've countlessly explained numerous times. Mulan goes through the laziest trope in history i.e a montage and becomes super warrior and has no faults. "Oh, she's an awkward doofus in the beginning, how endearing!" Please..

By your logic I should have NOTHING but hot female characters rounding out my top 5 or even 10, but I don't. Just because I have a few female characters at the top that yes I find pretty, doesn't mean that's the sole reason for liking them. Before Contest V aka the greatest contest, I backed Shere Khan because at the time he was my favourite. Contest IV honestly got me back into Disney because I hadn't considered these kinds of things in forever (unlike you, making ranking lists before you could walk, presumably). It was after re-watching a lot of stuff I was like "Oh yeah, BatB is so damn good and Belle is great in it" so BAM! She wins the next year.
