It's SO GOOD! The author really knows how to make a believable high fantasy world. And it really shows that she's a fan of D&D.

Started reading a series called Hungry Marie.

It's from the same guy who did Beelzebub.

If I had to summarize I guess it would be like Ranma1/2; a comedy battle manga with a gender bender twist.

Only to further twist that, the soul of the guy is trapped in the girl's body and the soul of the girl is trapped in the guy's body. So their personalities are switched whenever the body changes. And they only switch whenever the girl (soul) gets hungry.

Oh and the girl is actually the resurrected soul of Marie Antoinette's daughter. Yes, THAT Marie Antoinette.

It's pretty funny at times, but the story and pacing kinda seems jumps around a lot.

I get the feeling that the author is kinda rushing through his early arcs to build up for something big.

Kinda nervous about messing up my character since I heard that it's very easy to do that.

I wanna try doing a magic/sorceror based character. Is that recommended for a first timer?

Oh man, I can't wait to hear you guys' reaction to the next arc in MHA.

It's one of the great turning points in the series, and has one of the better examples of "MC Powering Up" in a shonen show.

Started reading Hajimete no Gal. MC is kind of a douchebag, only ever thinking of himself.

Ugh. I feel the same way. I still don't understand why it got an anime. The MC is dull and shallow, the girls are all one note, and the art is nice but generic.

If you want to read a GOOD gyaru/gal romance I recommend Rokudou No Onna-tachi and Hoshino, Me wo Tsubutte.

Borderlands 1, 2, and the Pre-Sequel + ALL DLC for 3 games for around $36.

Man, I keep disturbing the sockets and dislodging the clots by accident. Couple that with the fact that I'm a sorta slow healer, and this is gonna take MONTHS to fully recover.

Also, I just noticed that my lower right molar's hole is so big, that I can SEE BONE.

I guess they didn't put in any stitches after all, although now I wish they did.

Fun fact about that, I never knew that toffee was an actual food until like 4th grade.

I grew up being called Toffee by literally everyone I've ever met in my life, and I always thought it was just a shorter and easier to say version of my first name Kristoffer.

Welp. Surgery's done. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't go on any rambling rants after cominlg off the genral anaesthesia. I was perfectly fine and conscoious after it, although a bit drowsy. :/

Yeah, my lower jaw is so crowded that two premolars are sitting outside the normal gumline.

And my upper jaw is just as equally fucked up. My right canine tooth is so high up that I can feel the root if I press down right by my nostril. Also, the entire line has shifted to the right, so I only have three incisors showing instead of four. The fourth one is hiding BEHIND the canine.

I love watching medical surgeries and stuff like that on youtube. Seeing myself unconscious and watching them get all up in my mouth meat sounds trippy and fun as hell.

Lars is immortal now. He's going to outlive Sadie.

It's kind of strange how Steven didn't mention to Lars that he theoretically should be able to open wormholes himself, although Lion was winded from traveling to the Moon so going all the way from Homeworld to Earth might be too much, but it's still and extremely useful skill to have.

He still has a heartbeat though, albeit a slow one. So maybe he'll just age really really slowly.

Which is kinda better than immortality imo. At least he can die at the end after enduring decades of seeing his friends grow old and die before him.

Also, I'm not so sure he would have the exact same powers as Lion. I'm kinda hoping it's not the case and we get to see some unique Lars-only powers that'll make him useful for the inevitable big fight at the end.

But seriously though, this was SO good! Call me slow, but I never actually stopped and thought about HOW Rose supposedly shattered PD. It really doesn't make sense; why DIDN'T she have any guards of any sort when it happened? How could have Rose even gotten that close to PD in the first place? I read somewhere that Rebecca Sugar said the theme for the new season is gonna be a murder mystery, so I'm really looking forward to new evidence getting uncovered.

Also, holy shit, that Lars death scene was BRUTAL. I mean, we see him straight up get blown up, hit the wall so hard his head bounces, and see his lifeless body tumble down like a rag doll.

I mean, I always suspected someone is gonna die in this show, I just never expected it to be Lars of all people, and I certainly never expected it to be that explicit about it.

Now I'm wondering how his parents is gonna react to him being a pink zombie, or even better; how will Sadie react?

Ugh, can't wait for new eps to come out. This is shaping up to be one really good season!

They actually do address that in the story. Both the case of the girl and the guy's enzymes are so rare, that there hasn't been any real studies done. So it would take along time to fully analyze and synthesize a cure for her.

To be honest, the situation with the girl is more of a plot device to move the story forward rather than the actual focus of the story. It focuses more on the interaction between the three leads and the dysfunction the situation causes (I mean, would YOU be able to accept the fact you have to see the man/woman you love have to kiss a stranger in front of your eyes for the rest of your life?)

Just finished reading a pretty good romance/drama manga called Sakuranbo Syndrome.

If you're into reading mature romances with REAL drama and REAL growth and consequences in adult relationships, you might like this one.

The story is, a salaryman gets into a relationship with his boss, and everything is going well, until suddenly a girl comes along and asks him to kiss her out of the blue.

According to the girl, she suddenly contracted a Benjamin Button type of disease, where she's rapidly aging in reverse. And the only way to stop her from de-aging completely and revert back to nothing, is to take in a special enzyme that only exists in the man's saliva.

So yeah, it's a pretty unique premise, but the story shows just how real people would react when faced with this kind of stuff. It's pretty well written.

I really don't know how to feel about this ending to be honest.

On one hand, it's good to finally see the series get closure. And Jack actually gets "back to the past" to fulfill his true purpose.

On the other hand, the ending was just so... anticlimactic.

Oh goddammit. I knew they were gonna pull a TTGL ending where the bride dies at the wedding.

I definitely feel like they should have gone for a full hour finale. There were just too many things rushed and packed into the episode.

If you think about it, most anime nowadays are just forms of advertisement for the source material, be it manga, light novels, or web novels. Hell, there are even manga and light novels that are made just to advertise other mangas and light novels.

I don't think there has been an anime made recently JUST for TV without drawing from another source, other than Space Dandy and Kill la Kill.

Anybody else excited to see what'll happen?

I honestly thought that the guardian portal would be the one Jack would use at the end, but it looks like Jack really can't go back anymore.

Still, after all that semi-forced relationship building they did with Ashi, I'm not so sure Jack WOULD go back if given the choice.

What do you guys think?

I've been reading the manga, and there really is something weird about it. Like, the pacing jumps forward and slows down at really weird times, sometimes the plot for an arc gets so twisted and convoluted but other times it's as cliched and predictable as can be.

But even so, there's something there that I can't pinpoint that makes me want to keep reading.

Is that what we're calling it now? I don't think the genre's actually been named before, since, y'know, there weren't enough anime in it for it to be a genre until recently.

I dunno if there is an official name of the genre (and I do believe it's common enough to warrant being called its own genre). I just call em isekai (lit. parallel world) manga/anime since the majority of them have that in their titles.
