Stop parroting this ridiculous lie spewed from the mouths of publishers , the only people who get any profit from microtransactions are the executives who run publishers. Developers see not a single penny from the sale of any part of a game launch under a publisher, you're ony showing you have a child's understanding of this industry

You are the one with a child's understanding of the industry. Game companies used to fire people after a game completed, because there is no reason to keep people who aren't contributing towards the company. DLC and microtransactions help keep people working in the game industry have more stable employment, but the game industry as a whole isn't a great place to look for stable work. Not to mention the amount of OT you'll likely need to put in to meet deadlines.

While microtransactions themselves don't save everyone's job. They do help save some jobs since nowadays you can expect most games to be updated for a year or two after release and companies need developers for that and the company needs money from somewhere.

I never said that all the microtransaction money only goes to developers nor would I be surprised if publishers weren't taking a big cut of it.

I think microtransactions/DLC can be good, but not when they're gambling for gameplay related advantages in a multiplayer game lol. That's about as bad as it gets

I can't say i'm surprised companies would use tactics that aren't good for consumers to make more money. This isn't some thing that's only a problem with the game industry.

I just don't let it bother me. I'll still play games with microtransactions, but I will also avoid games that go overboard with it. If the game is still fun even with p2w elements, the p2w elements might not actually be that game changing.

I'm so sorry, maybe one day you'll develop standards

It's important to point out that, after you reach level 20, Bright Engrams will drop whenever you gain a new experience level (like Motes of Light did in the original game), meaning that you can earn an unlimited number during the course of normal gameplay. You also can't buy Bright Engrams before level 20, so there's no way to acquire this stuff before it starts dropping anyway.

The actual gameplay impact of these mods remains to be seen, but unless it turns out to be huge, I wouldn't personally call 'pay-to-win'.

I'm not saying to get rid of police as a whole, just to disband their current broken departments that get away with murder and other crimes.

You can then replace them with cops that aren't above the law and don't terrorize their communities

Disbanning police forces and hiring new ones won't solve the problem. Cops need to actually face punishments for their bad actions and held to the standards of the law.

What I mean is curbing climate change won't prevent the damage already done to the environment. Dealing with the hurricanes directly will at least prevent the damage caused by already determined weather patterns.

Why not do both? If we keep Climate Change unchecked we'll only see stronger hurricanes that'll we have to combat.

Since worst case they don't win first round of voting and you can just vote for someone else in the 2nd round.

That's for the presidential election, no? AFAIK there are still plenty of parties represented in their parliaments.

Yeah that's the presidential election. I don't know how their local elections are dealt with, but they do have several different parties in parliament. So France has pretty good representation for it's people even if their system isn't perfect.

He didn't. It was largely the NRA scaring gun owners to go out and buy more guns, because that is what helps gun manufactures.

He literally wished he could implement Australia's gun control program - which is a de-facto gun ban - in America, on live TV.

How is that not a threat to the Second Amendment?

You do know implementing laws that ban guns don't actually mean the government is breaking into your home to take away your guns. Whether or not you agree with the proposal is different from the fact that Obama never threatened to take away people's guns.

Plus Obama has said this at the beginning and the end of his presidency.

Yes, Battlefield 1 I believe downloads all new content regardless if you own it or not.

Honestly I don't have a problem with a game doing that, since it's official content I might buy in the future anyway, and I anticipate the extra data usage. But I don't like the idea of a potentially limitless mod library expanding to consume my entire hard drive.

Well for multiplayer games everyone would need to download any new dlcs since it would cause issues playing with a new item and some other player in the game not having the data for it.

There's at least a reason why a game like Battlefield 1 does this.

Fallout 4 is a single player game with no multiplayer components so it's not like you need to download every dlc released.

They'll keep trying until it gets accepted. I wouldn't be surprised if they try barring free mods (thus requiring a price being set) just like how Microsoft forbade companies from releasing free DLC, thus creating this bullshit mess in the first place.

I think the problem is really just Bethesda's methods. First time was a disaster since there was 0 control and people could literally steal other people mods and sell them or put up crap and sell it. Not to mention the take Valve and Bethesda were getting that made it rather pointless for people putting the work in to go through that channel.

Now we have an issue that a game is downloading content you aren't even using.

There's probably a way to do paid mods right, I just don't think it's ever going to be from anything a developer tries.
