What kills me is the fact that we invented the internet and other countries like South Korea get 10x the internet speed for like an 1/8th of the price we pay.

AT&T has been giving us fucking 5 Mbps lately when we're paying for 15 and they had the nerve to send us a letter saying our rate is gonna go up next month because our "promotional period expired--" are you kidding me? Give us the rate we actually pay for, then we'll talk. Bout to just switch ISPs.

Guys, history classes and Bible courses are different. I'm not saying not to learn about ANY religion-- a lot of it is relevant to history class, wars, etc.

Diving into Bible excerpts is not the same as learning about Christianity.

There's a difference between allowing and forcing. Read your source:

The bill, which sailed through the House in a 80-14 vote, will not force schools to teach the Bible, but will give schools the option of providing a Bible literacy elective course for students to voluntarily take part in

No, I'm reading it correctly. Electives still have to be paid for. Allowing one religion over another is a double standard. Offering all of them is expensive; defeats the purpose of private school to an extent. Best to just keep it out completely. Why should taxpayers have to suffer?

There's no law against teaching Bible study. If there were, there would be no religious studies in college.

The difference is that you know what you're getting into when you pay for those courses in college.

Teaching bible study in public schools requires taxpayer funding. That money could go toward other courses and/or new equipment.

Do you know how many people would flip their shit in KY if Quran study was in public schools? There would be a total outrage.

Keep religion out of public schools. Separation of church and state.

Highly recommend reading "Our Occulted History" by Jim Marrs. I read it as an open-minded but complete skeptic, and it's actually a pretty great read. He used to be a journalist (one of the good ones). Goodreads users gave it an extremely high rating. He doesn't shove any opinions down your throat, he just lays out facts in a pleasant chronological order (tons of citations in the back) and lets you draw your own conclusions.

Totally understand why anyone who mighta seen my post and thought it was a crock of shit, though. It does sound batshit crazy.

You know this is what bugs me. When folk say they don't vote/don't care some folk still try and push their drama onto them by saying "you should vote/care because *insert reasons here*". Being as I don't care about politics I don't vote and the reasons given on why I should care/vote don't interest me. I've nothing against folk thinking their votes actually matter and they love the drama surrounding it provided they don't put that shit on me.

I mean, he's not wrong, either. I would personally just not rather vote anymore because I have no idea which lies are which. I want no part of it.

Feeling massively disrespected. This happened when I came in this morning, as I was shitting and puking from food poisoning yesterday.

He replaced it with a piece of shit chair. The two of us were never even close to being on negative terms with one another to the best of my knowledge. I've not even had the opportunity to piss him off in any way.

There was nothing about that chair that was special. It had no wheels, cushions weren't that great, but it helped my lower back in accordance with my desk height.

I hate the fact that not saying anything at all is probably my best option here. Can't really address it to anyone because it's more of a small business than corporate.

Not really sure if this is venting or seeking advice. I was thinking of bringing it up the next time my back hurt, but then it makes me look like a coward now. #YayOfficePolitics

Dang... 2 perfect d20 rolls and nobody has any input? Shit, Tyrone.

Sorry, your opening post just reminded me how much I loathe 5E.

Also, while the results of rolls will often be a factor in a memorable (good or bad) moment, the fact you got a really lucky roll just on its own shouldn't be something to get so hyped about. "I got a randomly very rare dice roll result! Best D&D session EV4R!"
It wasn't even like...a dire situation where the one lucky roll saved the day. Just really lame example, sorry.

I actually understand this. A lot. 3.5 was my game but the local comic shop, where I've met my friends since moving, played 5e and it was just what kinda got the ball rolling for us. We kept it going.

What made it the best game ever was a combination of the what our dwarf yelled (who takes role playing to another level) and beyond that. I was on my phone and didn't really get to give that session its deserved glory when I elaborated. Everyone laughed at the LotR reference.
