I still can't believe you're shitposting instead of presenting an argument. You'd think it'd be easy since Halo was so REVOLUTIONARY.

Or maybe it just an ok FPS game that capitalized on a demand for them on consoles. It didn't introduce the genre or popularize online play, it was just a big series who's popularity died down when it was no longer the only game in town. No more groundbreaking than CoD4, which actually has more imitators than Halo ever did.

If I was wrong you'd be able to say differently but you're just getting overly emotional about a game you like.

Why do you think doom and Quake died off after halo?

Both are very much alive. Halo would actually be the dead series. Its only claim to fame was being the only thing console players had. When other devs started moving in it just disappeared.

Why does CoD sell five times as much as Halo ever did? The industry has grown. Dooms sales numbers are actually more impressive when you take that into account. Being the only game on a system is kind of great for sales, btw.

You don't realize how every single PC in the 90s had Doom installed, you don't realize people were making money playing quake before Halo "invented" LAN parties, you don't realize HL came out three years before Halo. I'm sure younger people view CoD the same way now. All Bungie did was take this to a platform most devs ignored. But they aren't even the first to do that, Goldeneye is remembered fondly despite being an average game for the same reasons.
