Now granted a lot of life stuff happened then and put things in perspective as far as what I do with my free time. But I really don't think it was all that. Last gen saw so many series and outright genres completely die in favor of online games and shooters it was disgusting. Others like FF became bastardized shadows of their former selves. It was like go fps or nothing. Now there's more variety in games again. Lots of remasters. It's not PS1/PS2 era good but I'll take it. I have a desire to play things now because there's more things available. Eh, if you dig through the crap those systems had good games. The only type of games that interest me these days are games with great stories, games with random loot and tower defense (especially the Kingdom Rush series) games on my iPad. There are also the occasional RPGs like Crashlands, Battleheart Legacy and Cat Quest that holds my interest.
