What time should I arrive/leave?

So there are three airports in the area and we already have people coming to three different ones. Check for flights to Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton. Dayton is the closest and easiest, and if you can come in on Friday, that would be preferred. So arriving to Dayton on Friday, departing from Dayton late Monday or on Tuesday is preferred. Tabii already has to go to both Columbus and Cincinnati on Tuesday AM for dropping people off. Let me know if Dayton is an option for you or not

i beat dracula's curse

really bitchin music, great mechanics, the game felt awesome. i only died from combat twice -- both times to the doppleganger -- but i sure did fall a lot. the only section of the game i struggled with, aside from the doppleganger, was climbing the stairs while the skull towers shot AND the shield flying knight dudes come from the side

dracula went down like a bitch imo



this was my first "classic" castlevania game and i loved it. i will definitely go back and play it again some time and spend more time with the other characters you can switch to, because i did VERY LITTLE of that.

Alright, I beat Lament of Innocence. It was my first Castlevania game. I found the story to be interesting -- or more accurately, the characters were interesting. The voice acting was OK for the most part. I completely forgot about Mathias so the reveal at the end did nothing for me, so whoops on that front. I do think the lines delivered to Walter as you beat him and to Death at the end are well-written, fire and brimstone stuff that seems totally at home in this series.

Combat was decent, but tedious by the end. The last world is several times harder than the rest of the game so that was a bummer. There was also a room that was dark with platforms you had to jump on and if you fell it sent you back to the start of the room and it was probably some of the least fun I've ever had in a game. If I were not doing this project, I would have stopped the game right there. I ended up passing on whatever the hidden item was in the other part of that room.

I did very little side stuff. The game didn't seem to give me much incentive to do it. I never equipped an armor piece. I never found another relic other than the first one that makes the ground fire when you walk on it.

The music was great. The enemy, boss and level concepts were really well done, though the levels were way too repetitive in the end. Too much backtracking. Overall, probably a 6/10 game. I liked it, didn't love it, didn't have a blast.

I think it's pretty easy to understand why someone wouldn't like a stomping. It's not dramatic, if Federer had won in a 5-setter it'd be the same thing just way more exciting. Way more memorable. Anything "way more" is probably nothing but a good thing.

I mean it's cool he didn't drop a set too, that's damn impressive. But a 5-set nail biter would be much better.

of course that would be MUCH BETTER, but I was responding to calling it a "terrible final." Seeing the best to ever play the sport perform so well at his age and after his last few years was enough imo.

Hi everyone! This is my second or third topic on the subject of Extra Life 2017, a charity gaming marathon to benefit children's hospitals. Last year, I hosted Extra Life at my house in Dayton, OH along with Han and Tera and Tabii, fellow B8ers. We raised over $1000 and this year we're doing it again, with a goal of $2550. Last year was 25 hours of gaming, and this year is 49 hours.

At the end of the 49 hours, I will be getting married to Tabii, which will also be livestreamed.

Wigs has expressed his desire to take the last spot, but there were three users who don't frequent the B8 Discord (where this is primarily planned) who expressed interest before him and I need to see where they are. Those users are @ChaosTonyV4 @HaRRicH and @Forceful_Dragon

You three have expressed interest. If any of you can come, great. If you can't, then we'll be fine because we have so many people attending already, and there's always an opportunity to involve you in other ways (cross streams, online games, etc!). The three of you expressed interest all about the same time and I kind of feel there is only room for one of you (including Wigs). So it would be good if we figured it out in this topic. hey, speedrunning people, i'd like some advice

i have anxiety and part of that is having issues watching other people -- non-professionals, namely -- talk in non-professional situations. anything that can be defined as cringe , really. so for me, watching video of people playing on the internet can occasionally make me uncomfortable. in addition to that, i've never really been that interested in speedrunning

but so many people are, and so many people love it, and so i decided i'd look at the schedule and pick out a couple segments i'd try to watch this year. anybody with knowledge of this stuff know if these look like fun runs to watch? like would these illustrate how neat speedrunning can be for a first timer?
