Before we start going nuts, just a few things, as I used to work for a gas utility in Illinois about 4 years ago:

-There's something called "Winter Moratorium" which is a legislated period in which residential gas service cannot be disconnected during a winter period. That period typically begins mid-October and runs till April 1st. Based on forecast data, the moratorium can be extended until the average temperature reaches a consistent 69 degrees.

-LIHEAP is income-based, and you have to go to designated state facilities to apply & qualify, so it is not a free-reign program. You do have to demonstrate some form of hardship.

-Residential gas service can be disconnected once the Moratorium period ends, i.e. during warm months (April thru October)

-Before the cold months began, the utility can offer a "Reconnection Payment Plan", which usually kicks off after Labor Day. If your service was disconnected, you can enter a payment plan for your past due balance, which can be negotiated in 4-5-6 month increments added to your regular monthly bill. To kickoff the Recon plan, you'd have to pay 6% of your past due balance, and the gas company will come to your home & restart your gas service.

Again, I haven't worked there for 4 years, but I doubt there's been much change to this, as these are all legislated measures & have been there for decades.

Even in situations where a man has done great things for a girl, if he starts showing weakness she'll stick it in. I had a girl that I gave a lot and did some really good things for and with. And she'd still fuck me over when we broke up, blowing me off and just being a bitch, for no reason. I do take it too far, and there are many circumstances that could affect someone. But all the talk about feelings and that, it bugs me. You can feel your feelings but still think logically. If you're fat, quit fucking eating so much. If you're ugly , better get some money and nice shit. If you feel crappy, go workout. I get it, and you're right in a way, but ignoring feelings can really cause more problems for a person later and completely exacerbate the problem. Also some people really aren't so caught up in the competition in life and just really want nothing more than piece of mind. The thing that gives me 'peace of mind' is just knowing I did my best and all I could regardless of results, and learning from the L's I've taken. I'm honestly an extremely competitive person and it's been a huge burden on me all my life. I hate it tbh. I don't even really care about winning all that much either though I just hate, HATE to lose. Anything. It's crazy, and sometimes it's hard to turn off so I have learned to choose my battles more wisely as a man, and realize not everything is a competition.
