I'm super white, that Ancestry test confirmed what though...

My mom's obsessed with genealogy, so she made my dad buy a kit for my wife and I. My results were boring because I'm 3/4 German, but wife has no clue who her dad is and it was pretty interesting.

I've been taken for the entirety of its existence, so I have never used it, but I always wonder if I would have had I been single. The closest I got to anything like that was making an OKCupid profile over 10 years ago. I met a couple of people there that I'm still actually friends with to this day. I was never into "dating" or "hook-ups" though. It just wasn't how I worked, which means I probably would not have liked Tinder!

Are they "just being nice" when they go out of their way to ask you what your plans are later on, or when your off-days are?

Plans? Definitely. Either I'm James Bond, or small talk is a thing most tellers/cashiers/etc. make. Days off, depends how it is worded. I've asked workers "how late are you here until tonight?" while just making conversation. Anything short of asking to meet up means nothing at face value. People who don't get a lot of female attention tend to read way too much into things the odd time they get some innocently.

The worst part about a topic like this is that nobody knows the exact wording, body language, or general tone of the moment(s). Disclaimer: I can also be a terrible judge of these situations, as I am bad at telling when somebody's hitting on me and always have been fairly oblivious (though I did notice when I got eye-fucked by a soccer mom at Lowe's earlier - I'm not completely blind). This brings me to my next point: why the hell can't women be super aggressive more often? I realize nobody wants a limp-wristed push-over for a boyfriend, but there's a lot of grey area in there...

I've been with the same broad since 2005. She had me at playing rugby and being able to beat the shit out of a grown man (when she was 17 - and she's only 5'4"). There's some story I heard from when she was in high school about how a group of senior boys were hassling her younger brother and she just approached them and they ran away. She hates it if I tell anyone these stories because she doesn't want them to think she's butch.

She sounds wonderful.

Maybe you shouldn't call her a broad.
She sounds like she could kick your ass. :-)

I know, right? She is wonderful though, she's a super sweet person, believe it or not. The other people always seemed to start it... Her family are just predominantly Irish, maybe that's part of it?

Not to sound gross or like a douche, but I more or less had my choice of 5 girls to sort of "go for" and make my girlfriend, many taking passive swipes at one-another (she was the only one who didn't). I didn't want drama, and I guess when you can perform a takedown and chokehold with relative ease you don't need to be catty.

The one time I had a good shot at it with these two girls I was friends with at college who gave me their numbers and kept saying I should go over and study with them, their mild hysteria indicating a hidden agenda. Also, none of us ever really studied, so... I was way too inexperienced though, and opted out rather than ruin everything.

You may find it surprising that the girl isn't at gamestop to get creeped on by random basement dwellers.

Yeah, those people are, in part, paid to be nice and provide good customer service. Sometimes that is confused with them actually like you. My mom used to work at a pharmacy before I was born and got asked out by old men just for being friendly and having it taken the wrong way. Unless you're objectively good looking to the point the flattery negates the awkwardness, don't ask out people at their place of work when they're being paid to be polite/friendly.

It does happen though, I'm sure. I've never crushed on anyone while working or as a customer, though I became pretty good buddies with one girl for a while and it felt like it was turning into something then I fell instantly love with another chick who I ultimately married years later. We're still friends though. My friend was a regular customer, and my first memory of her was running into the store to pick up Ghost Recon in a miniskirt and tight top, with DOA-style huge, bouncing boobs. It was sort of hard not to take notice...

We didn't really know each other until I quit then she got a job there and we'd talk and meet up for lunch a lot, play Xbox Live and stuff (which I think all accidentally led her on over time). I know things got weird and she didn't talk to me for a while, but it all worked out in the end for everyone. My point with this somewhat convoluted story is that it is possible, but only organically. Unless you get to know each other first, that situation is definitely going to feel weird and the guy will always look like a stalker/creeper. As I said before, the only way out of it being awkward is to be handsome, because people judge you differently then, but it's not really an option - you are or you aren't.
