Could be for geographical reasons, for example building a wall over a flat field makes more sense than building through rocks or elevated ground. It's also possible that the wall has a required easement that means they can't live within a certain distance of it. Either way, these lawsuits are going to balloon the cost of this dumb thing

All this boils down to is FB respecting the laws of a country they operate in. The alternative is being blocked entirely. Whether or not you agree with Pakistan's laws has very little to do with FB.

Maybe, maybe not.
Police shooting people is not the default. It gets a lot of news coverage, but the vast majority of police interactions do not end with someone getting shot. Some officers go their entire career without shooting anyone.

The article indicates that he may have opened fire without warning, so it seems unlikely he was trying to evict or detain

How many of you have entered your homes and found someone you didn't know? I'd imagine it would take a while to feel secure again.

Getting shot is actually the first thing that comes to mind when I envision someone finding me inside their home and not knowing me. Even if I didn't have morals, I still wouldn't do break ins because fuck that. I wanna live.

That's obviously a risk you take when you break into someplace, however the issue here is whether the homeowner was justified in killing him. Despite what a lot of CEmen seem to think, a person breaking into your home (or in this case, office) does not give you free reign to do whatever you want to them.

The only person who was in danger was the guy in the shower.

Not having actually attacked him =/= not a threat/dangerous.
You realize people kill other people with their bare hands every day, yes?

What is his daughter or son walked in instead of himself?

"Oh no DANGER here, just a crazy person that decided to physically break into own home and strip naked. Go ahead and go pee Billy but make sure to let it mellow, don't want to burn the lunatic in the shower."

The owner literally left and went home to get his gun, then came back and shot the guy. There is no planet on which that is considered self defense

Anyone saying "oh, he should have done this..." doesn't know what they are talking about

Someone invading your home is scary as ****, you aren't going to be thinking straight. Especially when you're in the shower when it happens.

Try actually reading the story

No one is defending the intruder. It is possible to acknowledge that he shouldn't have been there while also recognizing that the homeowner was wrong for murdering him.

Don't break into homes. Who cares how else it could've been handled?

Suppose it was a home invader doing this in an officer's home? I bet they wouldn't have arrested him.

Did you read the article? The home owner:

- found the guy in one of his houses
- confronted him, had a verbal confrontation. intruder ignored him and kept showering
- homeowner left the house entirely, went to get his gun from the other house, went back in, shot him to death

I feel like if you have time to leave the house and go and grab your gun from a different house then there are at least half a dozen ways you could have handled it better, one of them involving calling the police.

Wait, he argued with the intruder and he refused to leave his home? Fuck yeah shoot him.
Sounds like the guy had plenty of time to not get shot. Maybe don't break into places, don't refuse to leave when the home owner arrives.
If he had time to get a gun, the showerer had time to fuck off.

Zero sympathy here.

Nobody cares whether or not you sympathize with the intruder, the fact remains that the homeowner is a murderer who was rightly arrested for murdering a guy

Perhaps you could expand on what specifically the mom did that justifies this type of search

He left his laptop in his bag

Which, as i just went through tsa yesterday, they tell you specfically to take large electronics out of your bags and put them in seperately.

They repeat this multiple times
They have signs saying this.

And the mother failed to do this. Then when they got in trouble, asked them to not search the child as he has a condition thats rare and not to touch him. That could also be a warning flag that im sure tsa was thinking about. I doubt they have procedures in place for a rare disorder like this.

I feel awful for the kid, but if as a parent you cant follow clearly labeled instructions that are also getting shouted constantly by the multiple tsa officers, then you dont get to sit here and cry when it was your incompetance that lead you to that situation in the first place.

This doesnt mean tsa isnt a joke. Tsa sucks, but they did their job, the mother failed to follow directions.

I don't think any of that justifies what they did here. A further search was warranted, but they went way beyond that. The way you've worded this indicates that you feel this is an appropriate consequence for not following directions, but security screenings aren't supposed to be about punishing people.
