TopicIs it wrong to not want to date women that have kids?
ClockworkHare
07/16/17 10:28:22 PM

The biological clock is part of the reason so many older single women have kids. The higher rates of divorce put them back out on the dating market. Some women also end up pregnant from dating and casual hook ups, deciding to keep the baby.

It should not be surprising that women on the dating circuit have higher odds of being mothers the older they get. Modern society still leads them in that direction.

TopicDo you have any sympathy for someone who gets back into an abusive relationship?
ClockworkHare
07/16/17 10:01:49 PM
#11
Depends on the conditions and choices made.

Sometimes I can empathize with their decision to go back, but still shake my head.
I actually never support it. But then I rarely had trouble finding new partners.
It was typically easy for me to permanently dump someone who I figured mistreated me.
It was a personal policy for many years.

One condition many critics overlook is the fact that finding compatible partners is easier for some people, while much harder for others. The people with it easy can toss exes like napkins to immediately find someone else. Those with considerably less options don't have that level of privilege if they prefer to be in a relationship. Not everyone lives in an area loaded with easy access to eligible singles (ie: a large city) or has favorable opportunity to move to them. And some people just suck at starting new relationships, regardless of how they look.

There's a lot of subtle luxuries people successful in dating take for granted that some other people, for various reasons, have to miss out on. It's those uncommon cases that remind me how to understand why someone might go back to an abusive ex, even if I don't agree with it.

TopicWhat's wrong with hitting kids and pets as a form of discipline?
ClockworkHare
07/16/17 6:59:49 PM
#50
There's cases where it's effective. But there's far more cases where it just warped the recipient through abuse. Parents who exercise physical discipline on their kids don't always use discretionary finesse. A lot of them go full swing on the kid out of anger and eventually escalate from a light slap on the hand to a backhand to the face. This creates an outlet for an adult to excuse beating a child as a means of releasing frustration over having to be a parent.

And who's the party who made decisions that led to a frustrating kid existing in the first place...? Who really fucked up there? The kid? No...kids don't get to choose being born. A parent getting into the habit of smacking around a little kid for misbehaving is really just punishing the kid for the parent doing a shitty job.

That's not healthy for the kid's long term development.

It may have "worked" for grandpa and grandma back in the day, but times have changed many things since then. And we're also finding now that a lot of those "success" stories are really just victims repressing exactly how extreme some of the punishments they received actually were. Some of these people only overcame the trauma of the harsh punishments they experienced because they physically grew up...not because the victims accepted the punishments as justified.

Real talk, that scenario would not look good for an able-bodied man having sex with a quadriplegic woman and could very easily be turned into a witchhunt against the man. Critics would jump to the conclusion that the man took full advantage of a helpless woman, even if she did consent.

The same could be said for an able-bodied woman having sex with a quadriplegic man, but you would have more people claiming it was charity in his case rather than rape.

Double standards.

50 years can change a lot in a country.
Related changes in a local theme park shouldn't be surprising.

Although the critics would have a point if any of those changes were basically soap scrubbing away typical traits of villainy just for the sake of political correctness. Villains are generally not politically correct. It would be stupid to portray them that way.

If the town mayor was in charge of the "wench auction", that's bad. Needs to change.

If Blackbeard the Pirate was in charge of auctioning off women...that's natural, he's a cutthroat villain.
And it's just weird having villains on display without showing them doing stuff that's villainous, like slavery.
Displays like that are supposed to remind us why those acts are bad and the evil of the villains.

Granted, a Disney theme park is probably not the best example for arguing that lesson, since they're all about keeping the imagery squeaky clean for families even if it's historically inaccurate.

If a man had demands like this on his dating profile, girls would just laugh and swipe left.

ROFL true.
Only exceptions are when the guy is exceptionally hot; and this chick is not.
She don't got the goods to be talkin on that level.

If guys want to swipe left on her for having a dati-....hook up profile with more demands than most chicks (which is unattractive), that is fair. It's a taboo to put that shit in your profile. There's dos and don'ts. That's an obvious don't. If a lot of guys get turned off by the tone of her profile...well no shit. Demands are typically not attractive to guys unless they're basically about sex, which she didn't even imply.

Doesn't matter as much what the demands are. It's the fact that she bothered to include a list of them in her profile that had nothing to do with pleasing a man and that's generally man repellent right there (as it should be). Same thing would happen with a guy in the same league if he shoved a bunch of demands in the middle of his pussy-repelling clusterfuck of a profile. He would get swiped left so many times he would forget wtf right is.

You can't tell me this bitch is pulling in 9/10s or any guy worth a damn with a fucked up profile like that oh hell no rofl.
