I havent watched the show yet but Fun fact: there is some location in it I think its called the blue something lodge that was filmed less than a mile down the road from my house, infact I used to go down to the docks there and feed the ducks when I was little. The building itself also used to be some resturant that I sadly never got to go to it befoe it was bought and they started filming it.

Full-on Orthodox Jews aren't supposed to operate anything electronic or mechanical on Saturday, or do any sort of physical work.

There are actually businesses in areas with a high Orthodox/Hassidic population where non-Jews will literally come to your house in the morning to turn your lights and stuff on for you, and then come back later to turn it off.

I'd go one step further and say that alcohol itself is poison.

If moderate ethanol consumption could kill, you'd have a point but since our bodies are designed to metabolize it safely and for some the resulting intoxication is enjoyable, your whole "schtick" is pointless.

People who produce bootleg moonshine are still making it from corn mash. They also drink it to get drunk and sell it to others to get drunk. So producing a deadly product isn't really an option, ignoring the inherent danger in consuming copious amounts of very pure ethanol.

Moonshine is actually a poison disguised as liqour that includes special chemicals to fool the drinker in believing Moonshine is actually good.

I'm not a saying it's good and it's potency can allow it to serve other purposes, since alcohol is a good slightly polar solvent, antiseptic, fuel, antifreeze, and preservative. There are no special chemicals or dangerous poisons in moonshine. It's just very pure ethanol.

All alcohols can act as poisons, some only requiring small doses, some requiring huge doses. True moonshine produces highly purified ethanol from corn mash which while very strong and not delicious, is relatively safe for human consumption at controlled doses.

Wine is much weaker in potency, produced from grapes and is primarily only used for drinking and cooking.

It should be noted that the drunk effect due to consumption of moonshine or wine (or beer and other distilled spirits) is from the ethanol.
