It's about all the online government data resources that have disappeared under Trump. Here's the meat of it:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, for instance, has dramatically scaled back on publicizing its fines against firms. And the Agriculture Department has taken off-line animal welfare enforcement records, including abuses in dog breeding operations and horse farms that alter the gait of racehorses through the controversial practice of “soring” their legs.

In other cases, the administration appears to be dimming the prior spotlight on the background and conduct of top officials. The administration no longer publishes online the ethics waivers granted to appointees who would otherwise be barred from joining the government because of recent lobbying activities. Nor is the White House releasing logs of its visitors, making it difficult for the public to keep track of who is stopping by to see the president’s inner circle.

The administration has also removed websites and other material supporting Obama-era policies that the White House no longer embraces. Gone, for instance, is a White House Web page that directed prospective donors to private groups that aid refugees fleeing Syria and other embattled nations.

Officials also removed websites run by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Interior Department that provided scientific information about climate change, eliminating access. for instance, to documents evaluating the danger that the desert ecology in the Southwest could face from future warming. (On Friday, protesting against the disappearance of the EPA website, the city of Chicago posted the site online as it had existed under the Obama administration.)

And within a week of President Trump’s inauguration, the White House retired the two-year-old Federal Supplier Greenhouse Gas Management Scorecard, which ranks firms with major federal contracts on their energy efficiency and policies to curb carbon output.

I think the core issue is "does the fact that the characters are the same gender matter for the attempted humor to land as intended?"

For Colbert's Trump/Putin joke I think it does, which is why I don't like it conceptually.

For SNL's Trump/Spicer kiss I don't think it does, so I don't have a problem with it besides lameness. I think the joke lands the same if Spicer himself happened to be a woman.

Well, he later apologized about Griffey. I'm not saying he is a racist or that his thoughts were even racially biased instead of just old fart biased. It just seems sketchy to me that he would go out of his way to target Bonds and Griffey.

A lot of it is baked into our culture and we don't even notice ourselves doing it. Commentators aren't intentionally being racially prejudiced when they do the "talent" vs "work ethic" dichotomy. It's just been ingrained into the conversation about organized sports since integration.

Count how many times you will see an analyst compare a player's skillset to someone from the past of a different race. It's RARE AS FUCK. If you're a white 3 with a good mid-range jumper, you'll get compared to Bird more often than any historic black player. If you are a black quarterback, you'll automatically be assumed to be a scrambling QB, and the analysts will compare you to other black QBs, but probably not Steve Young.

There's been an effort among some to branch out on these sorts of things lately, to be fair.

Yoblazer asked for an example of Griffey's alleged petulant behavior and I gave him one, and noted that it falls in line with the never-ending parade of stodgy old-timers, usually white, who "have a problem" when some young player, usually non-white, tries to bring flair or stand out in any way that's not just falling in line with tradition.

See also, from that same era, how the Fab Five were "disrespectful" because they wore loose shorts to play basketball instead of nuthugging booty shorts like everyone else at the time.

I am not saying Griffey is Jackie Robinson here, just that, particularly with Showalter, he got questioned for being different.

It even *gasp* works the other way too. People don't give white players credit for their talent. If they succeed in an atypical position for them, they're just "gritty" and "worked harder," because there's an unfair assumption that black people are naturally more athletic.
