On average, a Ninty console comes out every 5 yrs. Like so:
NES: 1985
SNES: 1991
N64: 1996
GCN: 2001
Wii: 2006
Wii U: 2012
Switch: 2017

In two cases, Nintendo released consoles 6 yrs apart, this is true of NES->SNES and Wii->Wii U but it's usually when a console hits 5 y/o that a new one comes out. So the expectation is that the Switch replacement will come out in 2022, be called the Switch & Meet (S&M) and will encourage people to meet other people that like S&M to play with each other more often with innovative matchmaking and tracking features. Meanwhile, PS5 is expected to come out in 2019 and PS5 Pro in 2022 and PS6 in 2027...

Nintendo released the Switch this year after the FAILURE of the Wii U. But what generation is this system in since they released it at such a weird time and with its low power? I see four possible generations and here's why:

6th Generation: Because Switch is only a little more powerful than the Wii U which is only a little more powerful than the Wii which is only a little more powerful than the GameCube which was beat by the original Xbox. In terms of power it could be said to be between this and 7th generation
7th Generation: Also known as Next Gen, the Switch may be about as powerful as consoles from this era, probably PS3.
8th Generation: We're currently in this generation with the PS4 and Xbox One going strong...
9th Generation: The generation after this one, where the PS5 will presumably come out. But did it already start with the Switch?

A HOT DEBATE is when someone must have been born to be considered a 90's kid...some say to be considered a 90's kid that you have to have been a certain y/o within the 90's or by a certain year, often 1998 because 1999 is too close to the 00's to really be the 90's. Others say that you have to have been born in the 90's to be a 90's kid so someone born in 1999 would be a 90's kid but not someone born in 1989...others say that you have to have experienced certain things to be a 90's kid like Pogs or Power Rangers or dial-up Internet.

But what do you think? When does someone have to be born to be considered a 90's kid?

I've been watching NINTENDO SWITCH videos lately and people are noting that the actors are all 20-30-something y/o adults and almost no kids and this might be a switch for Nintendo's advertising dept...instead of targeting kids, they are targeting adults with the concept, marketing, and price. There's the idea that the 2DS and 3DS is now the system for CHILDREN whose parents want a cheaper system starting at $79.99 including a game and cheaper games with a big library which is why Nintendo is still making new E-rated games for it...games that cost $40 and not $60 and the console doesn't cost $300 with no game like the Switch.

Is the Switch a system for adults and 2/3DS targeted for children? Do you feel embarrassed and kiddy if you game with a portable? Let's see what people think.

The capstone was Trump winning (the casual revolution allowed his election tbh), but there are still some remnants going on. Its like how the Casual Revolution started in late 06 technically, and ended early/mid 08.

I noticed more and more people are agreeing with me on this, after ive been saying it for 5+ years now. Interesting. Perhaps the awareness of the Casual Revolution of 2007 marks the end of it. Also national news is picking up on it, television commercials, etc.

Currently over FIFTY FOUR % believe 40 hrs/week is reasonable! No wonder why there have been no attempts to change the definition of full time when the majority believes we work enough...but what say those that want BASIC INCOME? Should we reach a point where work is optional instead of required?

A typical full time job in the US is 40 hrs/week every week with a few vacation/holidays days included which may or may not be paid...but is that a fair and reasonable amount? People like to complain about recent years...but which is the WORST?

I've been looking at older and newer games at GameStop and I see fewer casual games for this generation than last. Ever since the Casual Revolution of 2007, I think casuals have largely stopped gaming on dedicated gaming systems and instead opted on their iPhones. The Wii was the last stand for true casual gamers but once that died in 2012 everyone had an iPhone already and didn't bother with a Wii U or 3DS. I say it because there's not much casual games for PS4 and XBOX One compared to DS and Wii at GameStop but just look at the App Store...

But what do you think?

The Splatoon 2 Twitter acct announced a new headset for the Switch. Apparently the 128 y/o video game company expects you to get w/ the times and have a phone if you want to voice chat...

The headset requires TWO devices: Your switch and a smartphone connected to the internet to access voice services. It connects to your Switch and your phone, mixes audio, and then gives you the audio while letting you talk to friends as long as they have your friend code probably. Critics say it's overcomplicated and makes it feel like back in the day when people needed separate voice chat apps like Skype or Ventrilo to chat w/ friends while gaming, but others say it's a good system because who doesn't have a phone anyway? It also solidifies the switch as a home console because who's going to pack all that stuff with them just to game online w/ voice in the subway?

It's a risky move by Nintendo. But will it pay off in the end? Let's see what people think.

In my past poll topic, Aecioo posted that his vote was 2007 because " it started the casual revolution." 2007 is, of course, a significant year since Board 8 was probably stuck in that year for a long time. It was also the first full year that then 3 y/o Facebook was open to everyone, and it was also the first full year of Twitter existing. Same with Wii. iPhone also came out that year along with Portal and Bee Movie...

I've always had bad luck with pets. When I was 4 y/o I had a pet goldfish but no aquarium to keep him in, but my cousin did. So we put it in his and then it died but not because it's a cheap goldfish but because we didn't know his fish was a carnivore and so his fish ate mine. Also when I was 7 y/o my pet bunny died suddenly and I spent the whole day crying after school.

However the voter decides to interpret it. Why not consider responses for all 3?

Some people would love to be 20 y/o in the peak of health forever even though you could still die from something...

Others would love to be an 11 y/o in middle school to change their past decisions to make them better in adulthood...
