I don't think there's ever been a QTE that I thought improved the game. It's just a complete departure from the actual gameplay. If I'm faced with a required QTE that is entirely pass-or-fail, I groan and move on. Really, there's not a good enough reason to include that sort of thing. Just make it a cut-scene.

As far as Spider-Man goes, that game looks crazy awesome and I'm super hyped for it. My heart sank just a tad when I saw all those QTEs, but I'll get over it.

I think most of my distaste for the game stems from Squall having no redeeming qualities as well as the cast and plot being mostly forgettable. Somehow there are people who really like this game, but I'm truly baffled by it. The only good thing about this game is the ongoing mini-game Triple Triad, which is actually really really awesome.

I'm excited that they're taking the gameplay in a different direction. I loved the first two games -- I haven't played the third yet-- but I'm in the middle of a second playthrough of VC now, which has been an off-and-on replay since its PS4 release, and it feels slower than I remember. It's still great, but I'd like something more than a rehash and this looks promising to me.

Sounds horrible. I've been to an all-inclusive resort a couple of times and it was pretty good, but it gets old pretty quickly. I wouldn't like to be trapped on a boat with no option to go elsewhere on a whim. If I were the type to enjoy crowds or parties, I'd probably have a different opinion, but I am glad that is not that case.

I'll be watching it soon. I certainly don't expect it to be particularly good. I've enjoyed the other Netflix Marvel shows enough, but I wonder if other people realize how cheesy they are and how bad the fight scenes are or if they think they're just pure excellence.

Thanks! I actually just wound up checking the Zelda board and tried a couple methods there. The one that wound up working for me was 5 times with the sledgehammer and once with a one-handed sword. I thought I was screwed since it came up short, but then it wound up bouncing in anyway. Yay!

Okay, so the motion control shrines sucked, but holy s***, these Korok trials are the actual worst thing ever.

I love looking for Korok seeds! I'm up to 27 so far and have only unlocked 3 sections of the map. I have no idea how many there are or what you get from them, but it's been a joy to just come across random little puzzles like this while exploring. Plus, it's great that they show up on the map once you complete them.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of weapon durability, but I've come to terms with it. I had some gripes with the game early on, but once I got the paraglider and started exploring to my heart's content, I stopped being bothered by the weapon breakage so much. Now it's not that big of a deal. Not great, still, but it's been fine, really.

I didn't even both fighting the Hinox, I just glided down onto his belly while he slept and picked up the orb

Ha! Awesome! I wound up fighting him. It was pretty great. I stopped time on the giant boulders and kept running around blasting him with those to stun him and then I'd go in for some big damage with my Knight's Broadsword. Two parts of the trial down and now I'm not sure if I can finish the third because one of the things I need might have glitched into the sky. I've got to scour the island for it and hope for the best.

Is the game worth 60 bucks at Best Buy for the Wii U? I'm thinking about it, but open world games aren't really my thing.

Probably not. I strongly dislike open world, but am also very fond of Zelda. So far, there isn't much about the game that doesn't greatly irritate me. I should probably also mention that I can't stand survival games. I'm sure my feelings about it will diminish over time, but this is shaping up to be one of the least fun Zelda games I have experienced (which is all of them that weren't on CD-i).

I'm playing on a third-party pro controller for Wii U, and so far, I don't see the option to change ANY of my controls. I thought at least the sprint/jump buttons could be inverted, but I don't know where to do it and have fiddled with all the menus.

Anyway, I've really just gotten started, but good grief, I am having a heck of a time getting used to these unnatural controls. I'm not sure how much the Wii U's controller is to blame, but this is proving a great challenge to me.

I've avoided these topics until I finished the game and I finally got the platinum last night. Other than a few menace dungeons and some random dumb quests (repair kits, rescues, photo ops, etc...), I think I've done pretty much everything worth doing, although I might actually grind for AP just to unlock all abilities.

Even after sinking 120+ hours into this darn thing, I can't figure out what keeps me coming back. It's a mystery to me because I don't think the game does anything particularly well, and it's absurdly repetitive in pretty much all respects. Still, I'm oddly compelled to keep looking for more to do and I'm eager for the DLC.

And when is this supposed Pro patch supposed to be released? I thought they said December. I need it now!
