Consider it? Already did it like 4 years ago.

Totally worth it.

If I didn't have to be awake for it. It looks horrifying watching videos of the process

It takes like a minute and you don't even feel it because they put numbing drops in your eyes beforehand. Not being able to blink for a solid minute is the most uncomfortable part.

oh fuck no.

I'm way too sensitive about my eyes. If there was even the chance they screw something up and my vision ends up blurry for life, or that it eventually gets that way because of the nature of the surgery...*barf*

I know you don't feel it. It's just the anxiety of having to watch it that is unsettling to me.

The procedure is nothing. It barely feels like anything is happening. The recovery period, though...

I've considered it, but my eyes tend to dry a bit and I've heard that night vision can be iffy with LES. Plus, I don't know how LES holds up for 1. people with eyesight as bad as mine and 2. 20, 30 years down the line.

Would love to get it, but I have problems with stuff touching my eyes. The tests at the optometrist always take way longer than they do with ordinary patients because my eyes end up watering a ton.

I have a massively strong reflexive aversion to anything around my eyes (including light shining directly into them) that makes routine check ups hell.

I imagine that I'd actually injure myself during this operation.

Did it 4 months ago...
Actually made a topic here asking whether I should go PRK or Lasik, knowing full well I would regret choosing one over the other
Went with PRK and can't say it was very succesful...
I wasn't blind to begin with, both eyes were about number 2, meaning I can recognize who the person at the end of the corridor is, but I can't say if he is smiling or talking or whatever
Meaning I can talk with someone with 2 meters between us and see him fine, but I can't tell if he has freckles or not
It wasn't impossible to do everyday tasks like this, which is why I didn't wear glasses, but it started to become annoying at some point so I decided to do it
My vision now is...it improved, yeah, but if it was 2 before, now I guess it's 0.5 or something..maybe even 1
Couldn't pass the 6/6 test and not the 20/20 test oh well

As for if it was worth it..I don't know how much it should cost for you, for me it cost about $2000 (Israel, go figure)
Was it worth it even if it wasn't perfect? well, vision is super important and seeing better can worth every single penny, so while I am dissapointed my vision isn't perfect, it still improved so I am fine with paying

As for the surgery itself..I can count the number of times I was scared in my life with one hand, and after the surgery is one of them
I was damn trembling when it finished, I couldn't sit for like 10 minutes. It's not because it hurt or anything like that ( I didn't feel anything for 30 minutes) it's just that you can "feel" what your eyes went through and you saw it and it's not pleasant at all
As for pain, only the first day was painful (couldn't open my eyes without pain-killers, feels like you got shampoo in your eyes) and then the next few days the eyes are annoying because of the contact lenses (but maybe they just put them wrong in my case, I dunno)

i have an astigmatism so probably not worth what it would cost

also i've noticed i'm so used to glasses now, if i don't wear them outside, my eyes are really sensitive to wind.

Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm blind in both eyes.

I want to do it soon but contacts are convenient enough for me that I don't feel too much pressure to do it. If I was still using glasses then I would've done it a long time ago already.

Not yet. I need glasses for distance, but I'm fine with reading at the moment. If my vision significantly deteriorates then I'll probably think about it.
