Our bedroom Alexa is more or less a "Rainsound" tin can at this point.

Rarely used for anything else. Most of our tech is in the living room, PC, gaming consoles, TVs and tablets. Unless one of the little ones brings a tablet into the bedroom in the morning lol.

I don't identify as one, but by technicality, I am one. Essentially, a hobbyist.

It's not the sort of thing I'd say to people as a term to describe myself, I'd rather just talk about the games I enjoy as opposed to being concerned with labels.

Not bothered about the perceived negative connotations that come with the term, I just don't care for it. I enjoy movies quite a bit, but I don't use a descriptor for that, same for books. Not everything needs a label.

That doesn't mean I find it amazing, but I'm perfectly happy with that part of myself.

@bluezero - I'm hoping this is correct as the drop menu isn't coming up.

Steam will only let me send a 4 gift card as opposed to a 5 one which is annoying. I can either send you that to help contribute towards something bigger that you'd like to buy, or I can pick you up something close to 5 in value on your list. Doesn't matter if it goes over a little bit.

Sea of Thieves is an interesting game. I played it with my wife and it didn't quite click for us, but I think with the right group of friends / partner / spouse, it has the capacity to ensure many great times are to be had.

I like that it's very open in nature and your only real limit within the sandbox is your imagination and you utilise the tools given. Also, ship sailing was quite relaxing lol. As always Zero, hope you enjoy it mate.

Amazon is currently doing a promotion through Twitch Prime (if you're subscribed to Amazon Prime) where they're giving away a bunch of games. Both Darkside Detective games are on there and can be played I believe through Amazon Games launcher.

I've tried it, just not a fan of it personally. I'm also not huge on vegetables on pizza though either, if I order one (which is rare) I typically go for a thin / Italian crust and light toppings, so pepperoni & chorizo or sausage and meatballs.

I like pineapple, and I like a wide variety of vegetables, just not on pizza. Well, maybe red peppers but that's about it lol.

If people like it, more power to them, just not my cup of tea.

For Steam it should be fine aye.

You can send digital gift cards through Steam nowadays so that's a big help and gets around regional restrictions, the currency is just converted into the local currency of the receiver.

Perhaps Divinity : Original Sin would be the best starting point into the genre then.

I'm quite fond of Icewind Dale, that's one I own on Steam but have yet to replay actually. Something I really should consider doing. In fact, seeing as Nerd sent over Classic Fallout, I think within the next month or so, I may start down a road of revisiting more CRPGs I was a fan of twenty years ago.

Wouldn't hurt to jog my memory of the games I used to love. Fallout is definitely more fresh in the mind, but that's because I'm a sucker for post-apoc and they stuck with me big time after playing them.

From an approachability standpoint though, I'd rate it highly which is why I suggested it.

Could always look into the Pillars of Eternity games? I've heard good things about both of them.

I'm pretty sure the Pathfinder games also fall under that umbrella. I haven't played Kingmaker or the new one though, nor PoE & PoE Deadfire. Worth looking into though.

Would Wasteland 2 and 3 fall into CRPG territory?

Been a long, long time since I've played either of them, but I remember having an easier time with BG all those years ago. I remember it having a good UI at the time for a start.

If there's one element of OG Fallout I will critique, it's the UI.

That said, Fallout to me is better than BG as a CRPG, Fallout 2 especially.

I don't really think you can go wrong with either of them. They're both what I consider best-in-genre titles.

If you're asking for titles other than what you mentioned, then Disco Elysium is a good one because of it's strong narrative focus and approach to storytelling. Divinity OS2 is significantly better than DOS as well. I liked the first DOS, but it's pacing is absolutely awful especially in the starting area.

How're you liking it Shake? Good game?

@NERDZofSTEEL has gifted me a copy of the Classic Fallout Collection.

Such incredible games. I hope that one day, with Obsidian and Bethesda under Microsoft's belt, we see a return to the classic gaming goodness that is FO1 & FO2 with Bethesda's coat of paint. You know, in a way where they can actually work together properly.

Replaying these is going to be one awesome ride back into nostalgia towns. Thanks brother, appreciate it.

I kind of explain that away at the end of the post. I have zero knowledge of investment, I'm taking part purely to alleviate boredom.

I don't think I can invest in Fortnite anyway lol so it's a complete and utter failure of a post on my part.

A more realistic answer, would be that I'd hop on the property ladder near me with that kind of money (cost of housing is up, but still cheap where I live) and I'd try my best to keep affordability for the locals up with the properties I own. I'd rather people that grew up locally to these properties have a chance to rent them within reason and realm of affordability. I'd consider it more an investment in the community than one that directly benefits me. Goes against the TC's opening post, but that's my take.

Fortnite.

Won't be long until it bites the bullet, but it's such a cultural phenomenon that even when the game officially dies, there will likely be merch, both original and cross-over based as it's an easily identified and solidified brand at this point.

I don't think that investment will get me very far because I have trivial knowledge of investment, figured I'd just get involved because, why not.

I don't typically state preferences in these topics but with this likely being the last before the event ends :

I'm hard into Battle Brothers right now and any DLC for it would absolutely make my day. It's a tall ask however given the pricing of it.

Also, whilst not over quite yet, I want to say thank you once again for another great event and sharing your generosity with me as well as others. It's great to see people come together in good spirits and do things like this.

Aye, that's all I have available right now lol. I would look into mods for that but I want to wait until I have all DLC so I don't run into any I can't use because dlc required / compatability issues.

Edit - I just had a look and a few that I'd use require all DLCs so yeah, gonna have to hold off on modding it for a little bit.

He's got the most kills and the longest tenure of any man in the company.

Sword and shield combo is doing wonders lol. I'm going to be gutted when he eventually perishes and the way this game is, he's definitely going to.

I'm not sure if need to start a new seed for the dlc you gifted, but if I don't, I'd probably laugh a little if he met his demise at one of the new beasts haha.

Shouldn't matter much, you'll just respawn at the next bonfire.

Disgaea 5 I would agree is the best in the series at this point absolutely.

I'll pick up Disgaea 4 Complete down the line at some point. I had a PS3 for a very brief period during that generation and couldn't get ahold of it for some reason so I stopped bothering.

So, after losing some CEmen last night, I've added a few more to my ranks.

Disgaea is an incredible franchise. My love it came from my brother playing the original back on the PS1. "Dood" was a staple of our vocab when addressing one another after that lol.

The only one I haven't played much of, is D4. I'll get around to it eventually.

I've heard mixed things about D6 from people that adore the franchise more than I, so I'm holding off. It launched at an awkward price point on Steam for me and I think that could / may be a reflection of how poorly NIS are doing financially, maybe, I'm not sure.

The Suffering is a good one.

Remember playing that with my brother many years back, one of his favourite games I think. Disgaea, The Suffering, Second Sight and Fahrenheit were his big ones back then.

So, completely off-topic here. My kids love the new Sonic movies right? They were talking about it this morning, and I figured I'd show them Sonic Adventure, something I digged back on the DC well over 20 years ago now.

The thing that made me laugh, is that my soon-to-be-three year old absolutely loved watching me play it, he thought it was amazing. My eldest on the other hand? "Game looks terrible, it's so bad". Bonkers to be honest. I'm pretty sure the Steam version has upgraded visuals over the original too lol.
