I picked a great time to start watching Succession

I just don't see why in this show, that's marketing itself specifically as a spy thriller with politically charged topics, is the concept of a woman dealing with being in an organization typically dominated by males "going too far" lol

I really don't think we need Plageuis to ever come back. Him being killed by his apprentice despite "defeating" death is a perfect, self contained little myth. Feels kinda weak to undo that just so the good guys can kill him "for real"

Plagueis being Snoke or the big bad of the ST is the only thing that would be worse than what we ended up getting.

Like instead of turning Star Wars into something else why not just... read or watch those instead?

Tbh people who hate how the ST "disrespected" the original trio would've hated my take on it since in my version they would've been in it even less.

Leia would've been a Senator in a corrupted New Republic

Han would've pretty much had the same role he did in TFA

Luke would've been even more reclusive and would've left behind a new generation of largely scattered and disillusioned force users. His role is comparable to Yodas in the original trilogy. He shows up maybe once or twice before passing away and spends the rest of the trilogy as a ghost.

The First Order still exists but no superweapon.

No Resistance. The New Republic exists through the whole trilogy.

Kylo Ren still exists. The Knights of Ren are a much larger organization than in canon and are allied with the FO. They want to resurrect Palpatine and whether they are even capable of doing say and the insane lengths they're going to is a big part of their storyline. They function like a cult/paramilitary force. Destabilizing the NR, hunting Luke's Jedi, stealing Sith artifacts, etc.

Rey and Finn are combined into one character.

Poe can stay.

I've entertained the idea of Luke having a non force sensitive kid or at the very least a kid who opted to never develop his skills but I flip flop on that

In terms of story basically you take "Let the past die" and stretch it out over a whole trilogy.

Luke tried to rebuild the Jedi as they were and it didn't work. The New Republic modelled itself after the Old Republic and it didn't work. Leia is trying to hold things together and it's not working. Han tried to go back to his old life as a con man and criminal and that's not working.

The First Order wants to bring back The Empire, and the Knights of Ren want to resurrect the Emperor and the Sith. Neither will probably work.

Downloaded the free trial and tried to make an account but I keep getting an error message after several tries

So I guess its Old Republic for me
