But my point is that I have never had it happen or somehow never encountered a single one of those women. I know they exist, but must be a small minority unless I got strangely lucky. Which was why I was asking about Covid, as I all my dating app usage was in 2017 and 2018.

Oh, one other thought, could it be an age thing? Almost all of them were in their 30s, with just a couple in their 20s. Maybe 20-somethings are more skittish?

Really? I have generally found that asking too early online is better than asking too late. I would always ask after like 5 or 6 messages and never received a "no"*. This is out of 25 or 30 times, I think. I know if guys wait to ask, the women can lose interest as they don't want a pen pal. However, this was all pre-pandemic, so I recognize that dates might not happen as quickly today.

*Caveat that one woman wanted to know if I was looking for my forever person, and I said I was simply seeing what happens, which could possibly lead to that. That apparently wasn't enough for her. Dodged a bullet I think.

It happened quite a bit to me in college. Like a lot. Hasn't really happened since my divorce 5 years ago other than simply not matching with people online. I don't think I have asked anyone out and been told "no" these last few years.

I still wouldn't have texted it ahead of time. Never a good idea. You have to always feel these things out in person, and you have to watch body language to know if they are comfortable with a little touch or not. Most women do telegraph their "consent" to things like that.

Just so no one mistakes anything (as often happens on CE), I get full blown verbal consent before anything actually sexual. And usually the woman is the one to initiate anyway. I typically initiate some touch or kissing, but they usually take it from there.

This is a good point. My comment about not asking consent for simple things and women's rules vs willingness might go out the window if a 1st or 2nd generation immigrant.

You can reflect on what you could have done wrong (or said) and learn from it. Sometimes you might have done okay, but they didn't think you were a good fit for them. I dunno. I wouldn't over analyze it and beat yourself up about it. I'd move on to the next.

I had a date last Saturday actually (she was going to be 30 minutes late, because she stayed extra at the gym lol). I think i went okay at best, but I didn't follow up. I think I picked up some cues where I think she wanted to end it by bringing up that she had an apointment (we talked for 1.5 hours, so it's not that bad) and the luke warm goodbye with a hug... Anyway, it's been a while since I went out where it went past the first. My last two dates before that with two different people, I tried to send up a follow up text after they weren't interested, and felt really dumb after. So i tell myself, If they really wanted to pursue, they'd reach out to me anyway and not wait for me to make the first move (obviously its a 2 person thing).. It's not like I'm being a dick and ghosting either. Since neither one makes a move after.

Not saying you should have that mindset of not reaching out btw. Pick up on body language and adjust as necessary. This can also vary on how much you like them, but I try not to get attached by the first date..

Wish there was some way to avoid liars and/or inconsistent messes who say one thing then do another.

But what is also true the full saying is , a few bad apples spoils the bunch. And it is true with apples as it is with police. If there are only a few bad ones, and the good ones do nothing they are turning rotten due to it.

I think it was missed opportunity to not have the Mafia be more involved. After you kill Salvatore, Luigi, Joey and Toni vanish for the rest of the main story. It's never revealed who took over as the leader of the Leone family. Some people may think Joey did since he was Salvatore's son, but he seemed more interested in his garage and didn't seem too involved with the business. Toni likely did since he was much more involved.
