Kind of. It usually reeks of corporate meddling. Big companies checking things off a list for brownie points. And it's funny that a lot of the people that literally want to eat Jeff Bezos immediately jump into the laps of these companies just because they made Sherlock Holmes black or what the fuck ever. It's also ridiculous that it's only a one way street. Makes it pretty clear what's going on. It never really effects the finished product but it's just eye rolling that it's happening.

FWIW according to the article the actual policy on hair is just crazy restrictive for everyone, not just those specific styles:

Like, yeah, Twitter sucks. I don't use it, nor do I have any intention to start. But I see how Musk (or any singular person) having total control of it would be bad, especially one so rich that he doesn't need it to make money and can use it simply to spread whatever rhetoric he desires (like Bezos owning the Washington Post).

Does he have total control? I have no idea how "owning Twitter" works. Is there not still a board of some kind that at least has a say in what goes on and can override him if he starts going off the deep end?

Also, him reopening it to alt right crazies and such is definitely but great but he's clearly on some free speech meme kick and looking for attention on the acquisition. I imagine it will go back to status quou if they get our of hand again. I generally ignore the dude but I don't think he's some alt right nutjob.

People have been saying it for decades. Bad news is the only news that sells so people consume it and think the world is about to tip over the edge. Not to sound too enlightened but the news lies, at the very least by omission. You should always take the news with a grain of salt, question its source and the angle it is being presented at.

I could have sworn that di water was, like, straight poison. Maybe they just didn't want us chugging it in science labs.

This and I agree. If it's important enough to be "real" history it should be taught as such. It's especially insulting because they don't even seem to teach a lot of significant black history in black history month. You learn about MLK, Harriet tubman, and that Rosa Parks sat on a bus. Maybe you learn about Emmitt Till. Then you learn that George Washington carver invented Peanut butter, which isn't even true, doesn't seem particular important, and minimizes the actual work he did. And that's your lot. It's a joke.
