I think it just adds attempted shock value but hurts characterization. She already has a distant relationship with her family. Her boyfriend is already a dick that wont break up with her.

It ends up as this weird attempt to build sympathy for a character and their relationship but it doesn't change anything developmentally.

I definitely had It Follows ranked lower at points.

The monster essentially sucking at its job really kills a lot of the fun of it. The concept loses a lot of power when the monster is so easily stopped.

Meh. I regret bothering to fight for any patticular death order here because apparently no one cares.

The lack of fight in either direction is kind of boring.

The family dynamic in Hereditary just never worked for me. Felt like no one had any chemistry and the decisions and grief never felt real enough. Nevermind the husband/father that had pretty much no characterization except in a single conflict that felt extremely forced.

Without being able to buy into the family as a unit nothing feels particularly horrifying or interesting.

Anyway we have two roles that cannot coexist. Proper play is burn through Lea(or me if you really want to)

The death redirect happens on my death at night, not night target for night kill. So this condition cant be fulfilled in a mirror. Its an infinite loop of desth exchange.

I'm a variant of hider where my target dies instead if I'm to die.

This instead could never be fulfilled with a true mirror.

Yeah my role has an infinite loop of the mirror in this case dying instead.

The wording could never be properly resolved.

I dont necessarily believe Lea works with the wording of my role.

Seeing at least one of the higher rankings hate on the ending is kind of puzzling.

I thought Vvitch was kind of boring but Thomasin being broken by the end of the film was probably one of my favorite character arcs on the list. Thought it felt incredibly fitting.

Oh and I know we're getting a lot of focus on the police and the media is eating up the police narrative too...

But it really misses the larger issue. Uvalde is a relatively small town. These small local police departments are never going to be prepared for something like this. They shouldn't have to be.

This is going to result in calls for more police funding and ultimately do nothing.

Also media acting like this small city is going to have big city disaster response. All these things didn't happen because especially as towns get smaller everyone is convinced these things cant happen to them.
