less bills, no more worrying about working a job I hate, mortgage would be paid off, all cars would be paid off, the kids college funds would be done being paid for, and more

More importantly, I would have the freedom to do whatever I want and people underrate how good that feeling is

When I still drove for Uber, I had a pregnant woman who was in labor who tried to call me to go to the hospital in an UBER POOL and I refused to take her

1. I dont want to be responsible if something happens to the baby
2. I dont want to be responsible if she gets sick or dies on my watch
3. The back seat will be an absolute mess if she throws up or anything if that nature

Why do that though? If you can save up enough for the down payment, you can buy the house with a loan and then the money you would have been "saving up" in your scenario, would just go towards the mortgage.

Now you get to live in the house you wanted, while you slowly make enough money to pay off the loan and fully own it. Rather than sharing a space with someone else for 15+ years.

Not to mention, with inflation, the house you're saving up for will cost a lot more in 15 years than it does now. My mom bought her house 19 years ago and the value has gone up by almost $450k.

I mean, the problem with that plan is. what if you lose your job during the period of the loan and you arent done paying off the house yet? A foreclosure will look REALLY bad on your credit report.

Most poor people typically have a ceiling in what kind of jobs they will be able to get. Majority seem to go the military route, trades, cleaning/maintenance, etc.

Even though you personally haven't bought a house, you are asking why *anybody* would go into debt for things - are you saying that people shouldn't but houses unless they have the ~100k or more on hand?

RE credit rating - you do know that paying back student loans/mortgages *help* your credit rating, right?

You can get by without a car for a bit while saving. Public transportation, getting a ride from family or friends or co workers, Uber, etc.

It also might take a while but you can also save for a house while renting or crashing a room in someone elses house. Kind of like what the new immigrants do. Work your ass off nonstop, save for 7-10 years, then buy a house from there.

As for business, yeah you definitely shouldnt start one without having all the capital upfront because if the business fails. your credit will tank if you cant pay back a business loan.

tbh I was always taught to only buy a car you can afford. even if its a cheap beater thats falling apart.

house I dont know anything about since im not at that stage yet but business. you can always put your own capital in or get rich/well off family members to help you out with the money to get it started. that way your credit doesnt get hurt by nonpayment.

Theres plenty of ways to get a decent job without going to college.

The trades are a great way to learn some skills for a decent career. Hell, even janitorial.

What? People in upper middle class or affluent neighborhoods think those jobs are too ghetto for them? (Unfortunately I did hear something like this as to why they dont want to work the trades)
