Afaik no enemies were totally immune to stat breaks (maybe some event bosses were at some point? Iunno), but against all magicite/cardia/etc they were just reduced to being 30% as effective as advertised. It was still useful debuff the enemy with stuff like Passionate Salsa, but it would be like an 8% damage boost or something instead of something crazy.

The complexity was a selling point to me! I can definitely see it being a turn-off to the average new player, though.

Awesome! I actually just rewatched the show a few months ago and it was just as good as I remembered. Joel McHale and Ken Jeong also had a podcast during the pandemic and they did a table read of an episode which was absolutely hilarious (as were the episodes with Alison Brie).

Anyway, thanks to everyone here for helping me when I started out! I definitely wasn't expecting to get so absorbed in the game when I loaded it back up last year after it had been sitting on my phone gathering dust for over half a decade.

Yda AASB (first sync, felt like she deserved it)
Gilgamesh CSB, gauge G+, wcast LMR (favorite character, never had a chance to use him)

Hope CSB (had 2k lenses left and never had a magic holy chain; he had 0 other SBs)
One SB (mostly USBs) for all possible 0 SB or LMR-only characters (nothing to be done about Ravus and Arciela)

Trying to get in the BZ sub-30 given my previous 30.06 kill... so far I've had one kill where he was down to 0.2% after Tidus's LBO at 29.96, and another that was a 30.10 kill.... augh

I dont think theyd hold that a national ban was unconstitutional unless theyd already boxed themselves into a corner by saying that a bill making it legal nationally was unconstitutional (and Im not even sure that that would work). They seem pretty willing to use whatever tortured logic they think is necessary on this issue.

The kill before this was 30.06, which was very frustrating (though thankfully not 30.03; he uses up an extra tick at the very end for no good reason and it would have sucked for that to have cost me a sub-30)

Ah yeah I would have loved to have had Vaan's chain; I only have his AA1/2 and he's pretty great just with those.

Is his chain lensable? I used him as my phys wind chainer through the end of global.

Hmm I think I might lens the rest of Ramzas stuff just to have a complete character (could do Delita instead, but Ramza has more SBs so that seems like the way to go. Cant do both because I only left myself 5k level 1s when I was honing stuff). Not sure whether or not Im gonna muster up the motivation to try and sub-30 Safer Sephiroth, though.

This is the official summary:

This bill revises the process of casting and counting electoral votes for presidential elections. The bill also revises provisions related to the presidential transition process.

The bill specifies that the choice of electors must occur in accordance with the laws of the state enacted prior to election day.

Additionally, the bill identifies each state's governor (unless otherwise identified in the laws or constitution of a state in effect on election day) as responsible for submitting the certificate of ascertainment identifying the state's electors. Further, the bill provides for expedited judicial review for any action brought by an aggrieved presidential or vice-presidential candidate arising under the U.S. Constitution or U.S. laws with respect to the issuance or transmission of such a certificate.

The bill revises the framework for the joint session of Congress to count electoral votes and make a formal declaration of which candidates have been elected President and Vice President. Among other changes, the bill (1) specifies that the role of the Vice President during the joint session shall be ministerial in nature, and (2) raises the objection threshold in Congress to at least one-fifth of the duly chosen and sworn members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The bill also revises the presidential transition process, including to (1) allow more than one candidate to receive federal transition resources under certain circumstances, and (2) require additional reporting by the General Services Administration.

Up to about the halfway mark on Fairy Tail now (30-40 chapters before I stopped reading it when it was current) and Im still enjoying it. Being able to binge really helped with the arcs that I remember being kind of a slog to read through on a weekly release (like Oracion Seis). Apparently the anime filler arc from 126-150 is considered semi-canon to the manga though, so Im watching that and man, the first seven or so episodes of that were not great.

LOTM, these things are not part of the sentence. Why take the power of judgment away from the judge hearing the case in favor of a blanket approach? This is how we get to absurd results like a life sentence for stealing one slice of pizza.

A judge making that call seems reasonable; my point isn't about the details of the implementation. I'm just pushing back against the assertion that a person's criminal history should not, in any case, cause them to face additional restrictions on their right to bear arms.

What fraction of homicide convictions would you guess were false? And how many "false positive" gun restrictions is unreasonable per life saved?

If you want to say it's unreasonable for any positive rate then fair enough, but I would find it hard to square with support for any other gun restrictions.

I agree that theres a difference between someone going to jail for smoking pot and someone committing murder. And for the latter, I do in fact think its fine if they can never own a gun (and I dont agree that that restriction alone would make them a second class citizen). Of course, I dont think gun ownership should be a constitutionally guaranteed right in the first place.

Don't really agree here since you would expect a felon to be much more likely to use a gun for crimes than the average person (though of course, you could say that that's a reason it shouldn't be a right in the first place)
