The Mexican food I had in Arizona wasn't mind-blowingly better than elsewhere to me, and the southeast would have great Colombian, Puerto Rican, Dominican, etc. food in Florida -- and great southern and soul food basically anywhere that the southwest wouldn't have. |

It's pretty ugly if you're not in the mountains. There's tons of shit that can kill you or seriously hurt you (snakes, spiders, gun-owners, javelinas -- even the sidewalk if you're not wearing shoes). It's too bright and sunny. Everyone is an unhelpful asshole. Shit's expensive. |

Also made the biggest changes to school lunch programs in over half a century, fought against predator banking practices, pretty much ended pharmaceutical companies buying favor of practitioners by requiring them to disclose any gifts of monetary value, ended don't ask don't tell, revised WIC guidelines and eligibility, etc. He did so much good shit - yet anyone who calls themselves "far left" usually just discredits or ignores everything because of shitty military decisions. |

I work in a women and children's hospital with a level IV NICU -- I see super cringy names all the time. Right now the big name is Finley and every single spelling of it that you can imagine. But kids won't make fun of this. A coworker of mine has 8 kids ranging from 9 years old to 23 years old, and she tells me about how kids bully less nowadays than they did in my generation, and way less than in her generation. Her kids all have non-binary friends, everyone is super pro-gay rights, etc. She said when kids are bullied that literal groups of people will stand up for them without fear of retribution - which is a far cry from how it was for Millenials or Gen X. |
