Apparently Shane Black has written scripts for sequel(s), but it seems that it bombed so hard that nobody wants to pick it up (that or he hasn't tried selling them but if he's written them I assume he's interested in getting them made)

I didn't first see it until a year or two after release - my parents were the ones that kept recommending it to me - so I accept my share of the responsibility for this.

Nice Guys was one of my favorite feature-length comedies of the past decade, either tied with or slightly after Deadpool. That's not saying much, since feature-length comedies all but fell off a cliff for me after the late-2000s, but it's still a great movie.

Not sure if serious, but that is and always has been paper-thin evidence even as far as the low standards of the Court of Public Opinion are concerned. That picture is several years old at this point, and not everyone keeps up-to-date tabs on whichever preexisting symbolism the far right has co-opted this week.

I feel confident that the Wright Bros. can get this movie off the ground.

Seems like things turned out the opposite way this time. Which, for any political strategist with half a brain, should indicate quite definitively that this tactic doesn't fucking work no matter how you slice it.

Pros:
1) no state or local income tax
2) beautiful weather year-round
3) driving distance to Disney World / Universal / dozens of other tourist traps and interesting places to visit

Cons:
1) hurricanes (the strength and frequency of which are just going to get worse)
2) a self-serving madman currently acting as governor with a complicit legislation
3) lots of rednecks and bad drivers; and the heat does make people crazy

The doomposter in me warns that, at the rate it's going, Florida will be an ecological cesspool within a few decades thanks to climate change, increasingly incompetent governance, and the sugar industry. Our current governor is doing his best to cement this future by attempting to turn Florida into the next big red state haven, but there's always the chance things could turn around.
