To be fair, most of Don Bluth's animated film catalog is basically just that and it's amazing.

It has a lot of issues, but I really like Thumbelina in particular, >.< . It's pretty much a straight ripoff of a Disney movie, though, stylistically speaking.

I'd imagine there's times that you'd wish they'd sit down with you what's going on. Help you through your darkest moments. Of course that'd be if they were different people

I think they probably realize that, and they do try to do better now, but... it would have been better before I became as damaged as I am.

My dad's mother was extremely abusive to him (frequently getting drunk/high, beating him for no reason, stealing his money, etc.), and that damaged him in some ways, too. His dad was a good man, and my dad really admired him, but he let him down in his own way too because he was never able to stand up to her for how she treated him. In the end, her addiction ended up killing him because she started stealing his meds as he got more and more worse off... and my dad never forgave her for that. It got to where she wouldn't even make sure he was kept fed.

My grandmother on my mom's side was probably the best person i've ever known (and I miss her very dearly every day), but my grandpa on that side... he was pure scum, and I never respected him even a little. He was horrible to my grandma, and even though me and mom/sister/dad knew how bad he was, she still practically worshiped the man. He ran her ragged over the years, physically and mentally; at the end when he broke his hip and refused to even attempt physical therapy, he used it as an excuse to get her to do literally EVERYTHING for him. She couldn't sleep, she skipped doctor's appointments, she stopped going to church for him, etc., and did he appreciate it at all? No; he actually thought it was funny, and her doing even the most menial things for him brought him a lot of joy. He wouldn't take even the slightest bit of pity on her, and when her mind started going, he started trying to mess with her by purposely trying to make her confused about who he was, saying he was going to move and leave her alone, that he wanted to throw her away for a new wife, that she needed to be locked up, etc.. He never loved her at all, and it showed; he even cheated on her with at least five different women. Right after she died, did her mourn her at all? No, and he started trying to replace her right away. (His care fell to us, and it eventually drove my mom to a breaking point, too).

And that's just the closer part of the family tree. The rest of it isn't any better.

I get where TC is and I know I could help some. So it's annoying to not help.

I'd already given up by then, and I don't exactly have many rays of hope to offer from my modern incarnation... so, honestly? I think i'd need to go back a little further to have any real chance at making an impact; the first part of 2011 (when I was 16) is what I recognize to be my point of no return , and there are specific things I can look back on and realize how they were major turning points.

For example, there was a person who clearly wanted to be my friend and even went as far asking me to hang out with her, but I clammed up and never really responded. Later, in pursuit of a popularity that I never had any chance of achieving (but was too blind to realize at the time), I shunned her in a somewhat public way because of how other people seemed to think of her... I had my head so far up my ass that I felt like being associated with her at all was dragging me down, after all. She drifted away and never made any further attempts at getting close to me, and things never improved with other people, either; now I live with the regrets of having hurt her while simultaneously destroying the best chance I ever had at having a friend.

The incident that sealed my fate happened at the end of that school year, where my (further) shameless pursuits of gaining popularity resulted in physical injury and prolonged public ridicule. To make a long story short, I let my bullies talk me into doing something I didn't want to do and knew I wouldn't be any good at, but I was so desperate to impress them and for them to like me that I did it anyway. I ended up breaking some bone and dislocating my shoulder, and what was my reward, aside from the physical pain? After I got back in school the next day, they and pretty much everyone else mocked me for it, and during the summer afterwards (which I had to fill with physical therapy), it finally set in what a failure I am. I genuinely recognized how much of a failure I was for the first time, and in my summer of self-reflection, I gave up on myself, and in the following school year, I gave up trying to communicate with other people. I stopped making any effort and locked myself away.

So, what exactly would I say? I would tell myself that I would never be good enough for those people, and trying to impress them would only harm me far more than it would help. I would tell myself to accept that girl's friendship, and... i'd tell myself to accept being trans, too. I was still in denial back then (and still would be until my 18th birthday), but if I knew that my parents would end up accepting it (despite having threatened me repeatedly with disownment and violence while growing up), and that my transition would turn out fine (because I was deathly afraid that it wouldn't, and used that fear as a reason to stay in the closet), I think I would have been able to accept it sooner. That girl was extremely liberal and very outspoken about it, and if I didn't have my head up my ass about her and about myself, she would've most likely accepted that about me, too, which wold have also been huge. In such a deeply conservative area, it would have meant a lot.

Oh good about the video chat for therapy. Sucks about the treatments at a clinic though. Whatever works though and if your parents are willing to take you then thats a good thing that theyre at least involved. Maybe ask them for help with finding a farm or rescue similar to what youd be interested in. Im sure there are plenty on Facebook/online that you might be able to message too. I found it really rewarding when I started working in hospice some years back. Something about feeling wanted and helping others helped fill that void in my life. Maybe with animals itll be the start of something new for you too. If you want I could help find some local places for you and send you the information if youre parents are not able to.

BTW that photo of RDR2 is some amazing commitment. Its one of those games you can immerse yourself in so Im not surprised with those hours at all lol.

I'm not really sure how to go about finding that kind of stuff, so I might just message you about it. I don't exactly find CE itself trustworthy for anything besides a general location.

RDR2 is my all-time favorite game, for a lot of reasons... it's just a shame that Rockstar is just a trash company now, even just a few years after release. After their poor handling of Online (which I desperately want an update for) and their writers leaving, I just don't have any faith left in them at this point.
