I'd open it up to see if the battery is becoming a spicy pillow. A few years ago it was easy enough to get replacement parts, idk how it is with current supply chain issues though. It isn't too hard to replace the battery, the touchscreen is a little harder but still doable.

It's probably cheaper (and easier) to go over the the Hock Shop and pick one up for $100 and then do a system transfer before it has a complete meltdown.

This. The Timothy Dalton and the Roger Moore ones were silly (most by design) and they kept some of that for the Peirce Bronson ones, but overall, they are good popcorn flicks (even the silly ones) where you can turn your brain off and enjoy the explosions.

You Only Live Twice has a ridiculous premise and would never be made today, but it's a really good movie.

They are going to have a hard time accessing a significant portion of their funds that are housed in Western allied banking institutions though. I can see the sanctions also seizing their Western owned properties.

Of course this might actually be a windfall for Trump; his loans from Deutsche Bank where backed by the Kremlin and they are coming due (this year iirc) he may be able to successfully argue that the new sanctions legally prevent him from repaying those loans. Of course he would have to admit that his loans were indeed backed by the Kremlin, which would open a whole other can of worms all on it's own...

When I'm at home I wear a pair of adidas from time to time (doing the dishes or vacuuming or other chores) but if I go outside I'm putting on the safety shoes, sometimes the the full safety boot if I need the ankle support.

Mexican fentanyl

Grossly misinformed as to where the fentanyl is coming from; it's manufactured in China and then imported anyway it can enter the States. Not saying the cartels are uninvolved, but it's really racist to single Mexico out in the supply chain.

Though I hear Somalia is a great, apparently it's really nice in the three blocks that surround the government district in Mogadishu.

Gives them the opportunity to rent a shitty apartment and with first and last month's rent, plus they might have enough left over to get groceries and a bus pass.

It'll probably take years of legal battles just to get the full bodycam footage, if they haven't "accidentally lost it" and even then they'll ignore decades of jurisprudence and claim the shooting was justified.

It's super strict, with the exception of refugees and Temporary Foreign Workers (who work at slave wages and constant threat of deportation) an individual immigrating to Canada needs an advanced university degree in a needed field; however they then need to go through all the schooling and accreditation all over again as they often won't recognize their foreign accreditation, so they end up working as taxi drivers and janitors.

Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper expanded the immigration process to allow for the ultra wealthy to buy citizenship, but that only served to expand and exacerbate the issue of foreign money using the real estate market for money laundering. Trudeau has been working to close that particular loophole.

Do you not have Mexican immigrants where you live?

Guatemalan, Honduran, El Salvadorian through the Temporary Foreign Worker program but they typically are not allowed to leave the farms, let alone own and operate a business. I don't think I've even met someone from Mexico in real life.

If I want great Middle Eastern I'm spoiled for choice, but a half decent Mexican restaurant is a unicorn. I can get Ethiopian before I can find Mexican :(

It's worth going to actual orchestra concerts, if you can swing it. The dynamic contrast in classical music really relies on having good acoustics to carry the lows; recordings rarely do them justice and often require active volume adjustments to catch the quieter parts without being deafened by the loud bits. That's generally going to be less true for video game music, since it's composed and performed with the express intent of being recorded, but live performances of the same music can still improve on the dynamic contrast for an even better experience.

Yeah, even a high quality FLAC file is still no comparison to a live orchestra in a concert hall specially built for maximum dynamic range. I've been to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra a couple of times and the difference is palpable. There is a visceral sensation you can feel in every inch of your body that a recording can never really quite reproduce.

Of all the things lost to the pandemic, the Orchestra is probably the one thing I really want back for in person performances.

I kinda miss having easy access to a Mucho Burrito. I never saw one before I moved to Calgary and I don't think I've seen any since coming back to Ontario; Google tells me they are around but they are really out of the way.

It's much akin to deprogramming someone who has been in a cult their entire life, it takes a great amount of time, effort and skill, and it doesn't always work, especially if you cannot remove them from the toxic environment that fostered their belief.

It's why well funded public schools are so important, it is far easier to teach someone the right thing the first time, then to try to correct misinformation, misconceptions and misguidance.

So Akari is threatening to take over the world and capture all the pokemon for himself! Thankfully Girantina-kun is going to help me prevent that from happening. Link has decided to help us out as Akari is working with Gannon to spread malice across the land. The Wild Hunt appears offering to "help" as they have the master ball but they really want Girantina-kun for themselves. With all hope seemingly lost, Geralt and Master Hand appear and defeat the Wild Hunt!

Now we must face down the entire roster of Smash Bros Ultimate in an epic final battle for the fate of the multiverse!
